I suppose it depends how you describe worst (can't screenshot as I'm at work): 317799384866252342 1 5 297 1 130 2015-01-29 17:00:52 Exactly qualifies.... we lost 12-6 for reference. 318362841625819932 0 6 160 1 131 2015-01-29 18:30:27 6 assists and just enough damage to sqweak in... also a 12-6 loss actually but one I achieved almost nothing in. Basically put a dual LPL shot into each target and a couple extra volleys in I guess on a target. Either way it was awful.
Only 18 or 42 qualified for me but in fairness that soared when I changed mechs. For the first 33 battles: 13 (39.4%) qualified; a woefull 42 kills or 1.27 avge; 130 (3.94 avge) assists gives away my problem as combined kills/assists is only 5.21 per match avge, avge 415 damage which is about 87 under my ballistics (JM6-DD and DRG-1N) normal but not too desperate. Basically I had a LOT of 12-2 losses which really hurt my stats and really made me want to just walk away for a few days. Eventually I changed to the much hardier TDR and after a couple of rocky first matches things improved. Including the two bad matches while I was learning the new setup things improved to 5 of 9 qualifying (55.56%), 27 kills (avge 3/match), 34 assists (avge 3.78/match), avge 482 damage. Basically every metric improved hugely. Went to sleep in a far better state of mind!
Yeah, it's all about mech choices this time. While I was running my WVR, I was getting maybe 10% of games to qualify. Tonight in my 3L, it's been over 90% qualify rate. ECM sniping is OP for this thing
Yeah I think you're right I just can't face it as the MC is nice but not a goal strangely in the same way a new mech or even a random prize bag is. Grinding assists for MC isn't for me as I'll take a bunch of kills over a qualifying round every time. The concept of pulling your punch in a FPS is odd. It also literally turns it into a grind of non achievement as all my mechs are maxed xp wise. Don't get me wrong its nice to have MC to put towards the next hero mech or more mechbays but it doesn't feel tangible. On the good side the matches did earn me enough c-bills for all three mechs I'll try "stock" and I'm 360 MC towards the 900 for the 3 mechbays (bought at 150 MC originally but i just have 1 empty now so need to replace them... whelp!).
My worst team damage so far was in group queue...someone in my TS channel with a TBR dropped in front of me from above right as I let out a full 8 SPL alpha with my firestarter. Managed to finish my night like this though...3L is OP for this thing, and I'm not assist hunting. Just been playing normally unless it's a 100% stomp (up by 8 or more kills), and only then do I go leg farming. Has worked out very well Only got stomped once, and only had one other loss in there. The 23 damage was an idiot walking into my strike, btw caught a glancing blow. That brings me up to 45/100 out of 71 total games counting as qualifiers...I should be able to get at least 5 more in short order after work, so I can at least rake in 1000 MC. Trying to save mine for the next mech bay sale, since I missed the New Years one, but maybe a nice hero mech will come out in the meantime. Still...knowing that I was going to be using the 3L as my main mech, I shouldn't have changed away to the Firestarter (which got fewer qualifiers due to low range) or the Wolverine (which was just too slow and vulnerable, and got pummeled).
A couple days ago when I played last I ran around in my Super Chicken and sprayed lasers everywhere then let my team do all the work. I felt really "challenged". The problem is? It worked when there were 5 LRM boats on our side because lets face it you can't have too many people not doing any real work on your team otherwise you are gonna lose.
I ahhh..... well lets just say i had 2 x 30 matches (triple ERPPC remember) which I have no recollection of... Then a worse one when two of our DWF's were being swamped by three lights at point blank range (2 FS's and a Locust) I had to either not fire and they'd die or fire. Managed to kill the Locust and a Firestarter before the third ran off but winced afterwards when I realised I'd done NINETY damage to the two DWF's. They did survive though. Not my finest moment but I'd make the same choice again as we went on to handily win.
That was entirely the problem with the first evening in my matches tbh - everyone except a handful were pulling their shots.
After 2 evenings playing im at 29 after 44 battles in single queue. On my laptop on a couch so im trying mostly playing lrm. Hate this kinds of contests where kills gives less points than assists as people try there best not to kill there target and risking a loss
Oh shit, I had no idea this was goin on. Apparently I have 700 MC worth of scores already from tinkering with Fox builds casually yesterday, woot!
Well you were certainly keen on killing me in my second match in the current TDR setup. Only realised it was you when I looked at the end screen.
I totally thought it ended tonight at 1am PST...then noticed I have a whole extra night to try and grind out a few hundred more MC. Hoping for at least 10-15 more games to qualify before I call it a day hehe
so many open torsos I finally got Ace of Spades from the event! Last kill was me slamming a Locust point blank to open him to orange core, one more shot to his legs that mostly missed, one more to core to kill. SRM18+A at 110 kph with jump jets is the best.
I've had some of my best Locust matches this weekend (4 and 5 kill matches). Those matches don't count because kills < assists for the scoring system. Sigh...
Reached and passed my goal, now at 53 qualified out of 93 games. Ratio slowed down some when we picked up a few rookies but it's all good, we had fun training them even if we lost a few more games. One of my lancemates recorded a record brawl of 3m 33s, that's a record of itself for me.
