I`ve allready got all mechs i want (from the list). Some new Variants would be nice. Maybe I`ll get a CDA 3M, GRF 3M, SHD 5M or AWS 9M for the cheap XL Engine.
If they would put mech bays on a 50% sale, I would get more mechs...but I'm saving my MC for the next sale. I need to equip my Wolverines and my last Stalker from the FRR sale anyway...
No BlackJack 1x on sale yet, I might get the hunchies since the AC20 and the 9ML are unique enough. Best 3rd is 4SP or ? I already have shd 2K and the wolvie 7K that are among the best medium SRM brawlers...4H and 4J are some kind of good? What would you guys get?
Just to point out there are some nice ones in there even though they were in one or the other of the last 2 sales. Wolverine WVR-6R Thunderbolt TDR-9S Stalker STK-4N Awesomes if you want to pick them up incl. the 9M which will be there waiting once the TDR-9S above gets nerfed after all the clan cry babies met a competitor to the TBR/SCR dominance.
I wanna get Awesomes and the TDR-9S but my concern is that just when I pick up the TDR they will nerf it. Awesomes I have always wanted because of the sheer terror they inspired in Lore but I realize that MWO is not Lore. I will struggle with this concern while at work today and make my decision. Crabs come out for cbills tomorrow too and I've got about 40m set aside from the grinding this weekend.
I'm guesstimating 10m per Crab with the regular 2m upgrades so I'll budget 24 for the two I'll get. Awesomes are not in line for nerfs though, IMHO. I enjoy a spin now and then even with a large garage, there's something sweet with them. The huge LRM boat, the PPC spammer, that humongous engine rating etc. 9S will get hit with the bat within a month or whenever pass 2 happens.
CDA 3M: acquired (I actually noticed that at some (lost to memory) epoch in my MWO history I already basic'd 2 CDAs out. I will now be able to master the 3M without having to worry about other models
If I had the money and mechbays I would consider the Orions, but they're just not enticing enough for me to make room for them. Regarding the Hunchies, the 4SP is really the best brawler of the bunch. I know it originally had the highest torso twist but I think that may have been nerfed. In any case, since it doesn't rely on a hunch, you can keep doing pretty significant damage even if you lose one torso, while the rest of the hunchbacks become pretty much gimped.
Yep, the MB sale was much too short and only little announced. I was lucky getting home early enough, but it was very close.
Further on the 9S, I listened through the Town Hall recording late yesterday and Russ was asked about the 9S specifically. He did not want to nerf it straightaway, he went off on a odd tangent talking about the remaining phase two of the first quirk pass on IS mechs, the fact clans have not had a quirk pass at all and generalising about the new 12 variants. In the end, he asked for patience from the clan players vs the IS mechs. So it might actually survive a bit longer.
LOL I'm sensing HERO 9S variant coming out, it will sell so well it will keep PGI afloat for another month and then once the sale is over nerf-bat!
Finally Marik... Unfortunately I have nothing I do not have... maybe pick up a color? Even then I have the good purples already, and have to see if Maize is a good yellow, the clans yellow seem better so far. (Checked, Phranken Yellow is better) Probably adding variations in hardpoints much needed in Clan mech. Also, some weapon quirks, mostly to lure people into using cUAC and such. Right now the heat for cUAC10/cUAC20 is much higher than the cAC version, and cUAC2 is no point since you can't really rapid it without macro. Also,mybe some work on SSRM6, another grabage without quirk. (Probably won't touch cAC if they are to be switchable at last)
Ummh, the vast majority of clan dakka mechs I see boat UAC's so they seem to think its eminently doable (I personally don't like them but I don't like IS ones either). You really can't divorce the clan weapons from the clan two slot DHS as they work hand in hand, particularly as Endo/Ferro takes a lot less space up. Then there are all the extra's like Targeting Computers for direct fire weapons and smaller cAP's for missiles. Clan mechs have always been a package which allows them to boat supremely well. Then there's the clan XL engines allowing them to survive insanely well.... ammo explosion who cares as I even have free case? Side torso lost... who cares? Having to store ammo in locations no IS mech can store it w/o signg a death sentence if focused... who cares? Note I'm not arguing that all clan mech packages are equal because they're patently not just that buffing clan weaponry directly or via quirks will have a huge knock on impact. The thing with ballistic quirks is that arguably clan mechs are already very strong as far as energy goes so if you give them enough ballistics quirks to raise those to be competitive to the energy weapons... we really have problems. PS: If you note that the Nova improved quirks and removed negative quirks barely helped it you'd need to quirk weak mechs even more.
