If you haven't seen it yet, I suggest watching what happens when you fire 7x ER-PPCs at the same time.
1/5 but then that is pretty much a no brainer LOL Also, for 7 PPCs he only did 60 damage... I wanted to see 70 up there on the board
I know right!? He should ask for a refund! So 60 dmg was enough to kill the mech, then the remaining 10 dmg doesn't do anything? Just flies through a hole in the mech's back?
Ok.. I didn't want to buy the additional ER-PPCs that I didn't have so I built it with some regular PPCs that I had. This was the outcome.
Considering the rate at which you fire those PPCs in the video you really don't need 7 unless you're going for the alphastriking. Instead you could get more speed/armor/heatsinks in exchange for one of the energy hardpoints.
Well, if you alpha at all, you're guaranteed to die from overheating. So yeah, that'd be kinda missing the point.
to try and play it without overheating is hilarious. there is no point to playing this build with the intention of win. only shear stupidity of what happens when you fire everything at once or try really hard not to blow up.
Even though they're joke builds, most builds can be potentially deadly. As this one currently is, it's deadly in a niche way of "I take out 1 mech at the beginning of the match and run around or instantly blow myself up as well". Not viable by any means, but it is the strategy of this mech. Your video is not displaying the purpose of this build as a joke or the reason of having 7 PPCs since you only fire 4 or so in chainfire and overheat. In that case, if it was supposed to make a little sense still you might as well have made a 5 PPC build with more heatsinks. If you have 7, you'd better alphastrike their CTs off. tl;dr: if you make a joke build, then display it as a joke. You're not showing it as the 'One-Hit Wonder' as you claim it to be.
I played around with a 6 ERPPC build last week just for giggles. I was able to chain fire or fire 3 at a time to get some shots in. As soon as a good opportunity came up, I would alpha all 6 into a weakened CT. The heat generated was not enough to kill me on any map if my core had no damage. The second alpha does kill you though. This build is actually more viable. Many times I would alpha, overheat-shutdown, and the enemy would just ignore me or not notice. Then I would boot up and dump another alpha into someone, or chainfire to stay alive. Still a joke build, but I was able to pull 300+ damage and 2-3 kills on average. The build: The video:
There is no insta-gib. Apparently if you get up to near overheat, use override, and then alpha you won't die. Something about reaching a certain level too quickly and the game not letting you die that quickly... LOL we'll see. Hopefully I can make a MkII video out of it.
How i see this build as potentially painfully: U are about to die and u decide that u can take one of them with u. Just aim randomly to any center torso around and BOOM, company in the travel to the other world of the mechs EDIT: Just wondering. What about this other?
Does not help with the raw amount of Ghost heat it produces on an alpha. A cool-shot becomes meaningless. Also, they fixed the bug where you could override and alpha without dying. You die every time now if you override.
Ah. I was thinking you could fire then immediately use a cool-shot, but I guess not. Thanks for the info.
Oh you sure can use it at the same time, but its effect will be negligible considering 7x ERPPCs generate ~350 heat
