Any Star Citizens out there?

I'd try the Gladius as its a light fighter (plus looks gorgeous). Maneuvarability is huge atm in the game. The package is $105 though for that:

Ironically I'm just waiting to buy that later on as a stand alone ship but they keep bringing out larger ships and I get lured away......

Personally I'm in heavier ships but if you're fine with fast moving twitch go wreck it in a light fighter.

TBH if you have a package you can always test on some of the other ships in Arena commander as you're not tied to just what you've bought for the PU game. Arguably you should just go for a cheap ship package that includes arena commander etc and earn everything in game later on.

Take the day off work and try to compete with other psychoes for the Javelin..

... or buy the MIS upgrade/Anvil Carrack and retain my sanity/stay in my managers good books/not have to repay $2.5k to my bank over a couple of months.

Edit: Knowing my luck I'd lose the days leave waiting and then not get one (again)

 

Not to shoot you down but the base Avenger will be in 1.0, variants are in concepting stage atm so the soon could be more than 6 month's.

That's an odd shape for a massive exploration vessel. All that weight on 3-4 tall narrow legs.

I'm at work so can't see if there are crew quarters.

 

I like those medium size ships, but I *really* don't thinking crewing with a bunch of other people will be fun and I don't know how penalized you'll be with AI people you hire for in game situations.

 

The Javelin really is a C in C vessel with modularity. The armament left me underwhelmed and needing 23 crewmen????

Its not really sexy graphically in the way an Idris M was either bearing in mind its apparently already in Squadron 42 and advanced in development.

Strangely the Carrack innards look far better.

Weirdly it can only carry 1 fighter in terms of gladius etc. I know its not a carrier but what sort of naval vessel would just have 1 boarding craft or fighter? One gets damaged in combat and you're fucked with no defence against fighters or bombers. Turbolasers.... yeah we all remember Star Wars...

So doesn't this make the Aquila kind of obsolete now? Just think of it as a bigger Aquila.

Science / Exploration? CHECK
Sexy Science-type gear/arrays? CHECK
Science type rover? CHECK

 

Needs quite a few crew from memory as a downside.

TBH they have a load of builds that are duplicated - remember that Freelancer specialised in exploration..... it became a generalist with a DUR version.

Then they added an Acquilla version of the Constellation to make that DUR look a dubious buy.

.... now a dedicated exploration vessel the Carrack to make the Acquilla look really pointless.

Have to admit I stayed with the base Freelancer for the generalist and went Pheonix for the Constellation but didn't apply the upgrade so I can melt it if necessary. Bit lucky as I hate the hottub/main area and it looks from their comments that you won't be able to change that. With a dedicated passenger transport coming in its role as a VIP mover seems weak as one of those upgrades is guaranteed to be aimed at the luxury market.

Source? My impression is that you WILL be able to remove those items. In fact a lot of the ships will have interiors that are modular. This was because of popular demand by the unwashed masses.
