You mean he was successful? TBH not sure last man standing is the same as it used to be as as our group queue earlier was full of 4 x Atlas/DWF on each side. When a third of each side is an assault they just become the standard.
That BNC I could understand if he was running...well, anything but a 20. The ease at which you can make BNC-E an AC10-15 platform is insane, with probably twice the output of an AC20 build...
Amusingly my HBK-4G is running that build with good bonuses and wrecking faces..... not sure its appropriate to a mech 35 tons heavier without the bonuses.
I "cry" always if see Atlas/Dire's that abuse these chassis as LRM-support. They are the cancer of MwO, like rammers in flying games.
I suspect we'll see less now as there aren't any Atlases that make even decent LRM boats. Before you could argue it as it was a level playing field. Now the quirks make it an actively bad weapon system relative to other mechs. Of course that only acts as a pointer if you understand the quirks/are an experienced player!
Hey, ramming is fun if you're on TS/Vent with a clanmate while on the other team, and you decide that ramming them is what needs to happen That's always when it's funniest too
so this pilot didn't even equip a cAP or a cTag... and this was in Group Que, not Solo. He could have used something so much better, like the Storm crow...
Could be distantly possible that he put a cAP in his LA for some reason (can't imagine why), but unlikely. Maybe he learned his mistake after this...
Well, fools and their lives are soon parted, I guess The SMN can actually be made into a nasty LRM boat too, so it's extra disappointing to me to see that (one of my 1000+ SMN games was in the LRM version). It requires consolidating the launchers into bigger versions, and adding some lasers and a cAP though. Maybe he'll come here and learn
Well if he had 2 ECM on him an active probe wouldn't help anyway surely? Groups were covered by 3/3/3/3 anyway so if he was in a unit with 3 meds he can't take one. We had a summoner in ours for a while as we only had 70 tons free but it definitely wasn't 4xLRM5.
Came across this gem just now: Top speed was about 97, so I'm assuming he wasn't elited. If he had speed tweak, it means he was running this: Perfect example of what not to do with a Raven. Underperforming mech with no armor and no speed, couldn't even get 60 damage with that PPC since he couldn't do anything about them hitting him so easily Fun side note, I used my Oxide this round, and finally broke 300 with it, but ran out of ammo. Had a TBR foolishly shooting at me as a distracting, and he tore me up, but then ran from my allies. Fired a strike at him, then ran at him so he wouldn't move...and got the kill Booya.
Well, for starters he could have gone with a AC5 + LRM5s build. Just as fun with LRM5, but the AC5 actually does something. cAP is a standard for any LRM carrier, right?
I run my SMN-D like this: I've been known to drop the TAG for a second ERML if I'm in a group with someone who has their own, but the cAP in the CT is definitely a must. Amusingly, I ran this mech for a week once forgetting I had transferred its cAP to my Streakcrow, and it still did very well! This is one of my 1000+ SMN builds.
