There really needs to be a better bonus for headshots. They are rare enough that they should be celebrated. "Kill the meat, spare the metal," is an old Battletech adage.
Mabye this is already reflected by a higher salvaging income...though that is group benefit. Some XP would be nice - though headshoting a dced mech isn't a great display of skill....
I don't think you should get any rewards for blasting a dc'd 'mech. If anything, the winning team should be rewarded for their restraint in capturing an intact enemy 'mech.
Oh man, too bad I didn't get a screen cap. Last match last night (with PT, but not double XP) with my Commando-3A had 350,000 c-bills and 3,200 XP. Cap map on HPG!
Didn't get many matches in today before work, but I definitely noticed a much better reward level with the patch. Losses weren't quite as punishing (though still feel like less earnings than before), and wins were much better as well, even in my under- performing SCR-C I need to get back into my SCR-D and see how it performs with the new rewards, I'm betting it will be one of my primary cbill farmers now That said...I am noticing a LOT more people just hanging back from the fight. Had a match on Canyon where myself and one other went into the fight (a SPider suicided too), but the other 9 people on the team stayed as far back as possible, clumped up. Saw them eat at least 3 arties before they got the point and spread out, but they still stayed as far from the fight as possible. After I died, I noticed half of them were using brawler loadouts with MLas and SRM ranges most prevalent. I hope this isn't the start of a disturbing new trend...
Highest I managed in a bit over 2 hrs last night was 303k... in an AS7-S with hero and premium, ..... several matches were 62k or so as our small group kept coming up against very well organised 9-12man groups. Out of 12 matches only one was closer than utterly one sided (aka better than 12-3... and that was 12-8). Loathe this new system in the group queue as everyone I know getting the most c-bills is in a light/medium, just waiting for others to take all the risk or in premade larger groups of meta builds. Really punishes you for levelling a new mech, having new players you're training in lance or being a new player all three of which were relevant last night. Ironically under the new system it feels like the smart plan if you're clearly losing is just to pull the plug and get into another mech as your rewards will be so awful on a loss its a literal waste of your time. You can amusingly cost the other side a chunk of potential c-bills/xp now by suiciding though. PS: For cross reference I routinely ran out 200-350k matches on a win in the past.
We need some facts on this, so far we have gut feelings only. Screenshots (or the data inherent) for ten wins and ten losses. Include wether it was solo or group queue. Would be beneficial to have the same for pre-patch so we can compare before and after.
K i will post some game stats today with my brandnew Cent AH, Shawks 2K+2D and SCrows. I can remember i had one match with 4Kills/400Damage and 4K XPs (Teamfighter) while one match was 3Kills/750D but only 2K XPs (Selfish Headhunter). Feels like Teamplayer gain much more nowadays. I like it
Except thats the problem as not many of us have the "before".... just the good matches which aren't representative.
I too am happy with the new system. A decent win nets me about the same, a bad loss is definately still less, but not too low. I did have an epic win with 5 kills 5 assist and 787 damage (I think) 11 component destructions, and tons of other shit, but got me something like 485,000 c-bills.
I had a banner match in my Cent-AH. 3 kills, 500 damage, running at the tip of the spear with the assaults. I got 100k, and 1500XP (after the premium and 1st win bonuses). That match would previously have earned me at least twice the reward.
I have a select group of mechs I play (i.e. I don't have very many mechs) but I do have a few of every class and a different play style for each class. Before the patch I was lucky to get 100K in any match (pug only no premium) even a good one. Now that they have added this new system I can pull that much in on a loss. I think the changes work quite well especially for the casual player and it has really improved my income on my assult mechs. Just my 2 cents from a non pro player.
TAG C-bills bonus is nice, you can score anywhere form 10k-30k more when you tag and have your own LRMs easy (looking at you Stalkers). More if you have team mates with LRMs. I haven't noticed the same for NARC.
I will note this one...two matches in my SCR-D with SSRMs... Match 1, SSRM 30 and an ERML, got 120k cbills and 697 exp with 600 damage, 2 kills, 5 assists in a win. Match 2, SSRM 30 and a TAG, 150k cbills, 749 cbills with 450 damage, 0 kills, 7 assists. TAG definitely makes a difference in terms of earnings. Edit: derp, typed wrong amounts
