Which Mech (Chassis) do u fear most, when you meet it on the Battlefield Face2Face?

Just close your eyes, imagine you are driving your Mech, looking for Enemies to smash with your starving gunz. You scan the silent battlefield - the Silence before the Storm. And you turn around just to continue your Search and then.. BAAAMM!!!

A BLACK SHADOW BLOCKING OUT THE SUN, you look closer, trying to recognize the Freaking Ghost Mech.. and in an instant you get the Goosebumps and a chilling Shock instantly strikes through your mind:

    "WHAT THE ****!!?"

    .. *NO!!!*

    .. *mummy!*

    .. *ghasp*

.. *i dont want to die!*

    .. *muted screeaaaaaaaaam*

    .. *heart-attack*

Weirdly the Ember when piloted by a good player. ;)

    Urbie . . . Oh please NO! :p

Seriously, though . . . I don't scare easy. There is a strength and a weakness to every 'Mech, and you simply have to take advantage of those strengths and weaknesses depending on what you're facing. And of course, it can also depend what you're piloting: in a light, Stormcrows, Summoners, and Maddogs with multiple Streak-6s are pretty much the most fearsome thing you can possibly turn around a corner into (happened in my Jenner once, ouch! :D). Otherwise, Dires are about as deadly as they come. :p:rofl::cool:

    Streakcrows.

No matter what you are in, they are absolutely nasty little assholes. They are fast, agile, hard to kill and pack an insane punch. Getting too close to one in a light is a death sentence, and even in something heavier they'll still bang you up good. These things are as nasty as it comes.

Other than that of course Dire Wolves and Atlas with their insane firepower, Boom- and Gauss-Jagers or -Cataphracts. Timbys in pretty much any configuration. But nothing can compare to the "oh holy shit"-moment when you realize that that Crow's missiles are tracking you.

yep, crows and maddogs with freaking streaks. When I realize what they are sporting and what's about to happen, it's too late most of the time :)

Back when my skills were 110% it was my Jenner or my Raven that people took notice of on the battlefield. If I was in a light I got called primary a lot more than if I was in something heavier. Weird right?

It depends on what I'm in.

In my Raven (tends to be ERLL and NARC equipped): Ember, Jenner F, Jenner D
In my Ember or Jenner: Griffon, Shadowhawk, occasionally Summoner if they are SRMboats
Mediums or Heavies: DWF, JM, Misery...I just can't clear their fire fast enough
    Assaults: Ember/Jenner F/Jenner D

Granted, I'm a much better light pilot than anything, but when I get in a heavy mech, there is nothing I fear more than a strike fighter...

    That.

I was actually about to post a rant about clan streaks (you know I hate streaks) yesterday but I'm still resisting the urge.
On a light mech a single volley of those literally obliterate your armor, you feel like your mech is disintegrating. When you think it requires absolutely no skill from the enemy, such firepower is totally infuriating.

I really hope that c-streaks will be nerfed HARD next Tuesday, or playing light will just become unbearable, just like the good old times (sarcasm!) of the streaktaros/hawks/etc.

Sign me up for StreakCrows. All the KAPOW of a SplatCat and more, and you can bet your ECM mech doesn't stand a chance because they're carrying cAP for only a ton and a single crit slot...and of course, the longer range CStreaks have. Like being dipped in acid when you go against 'em. I've gotten better about being able to fight against them (missiles don't travel through terrain or other mechs, donchya know), but they're still death incarnate for SOMEBODY. My favorite was the one time where I was able to run the locked missiles into his buddy's rear panel (well, rear panel, left arm, both legs, and both side torsos), swoop back around for the kill, then run like mad behind terrain right before the streaks came back up. Now if I could get plays like that more often, my KDA and W:L ratio might not suck so hard :(

I guess I'll put Dakka Whales on there too. Few things scarier than realizing how much Ultra AC-X is about to come your way.

And I don't count Gauss on this list, because you generally DON'T see them until its too late. If you can see them, you're actually able to fight back, twist, dodge meaningfully, etc., making them significantly less scary. It's when you know they're around but CAN'T see them that those guys scare the bajeebus out of me, because you never know when you're about to eat 30 pinpoint damage like a lightning bolt out of a clear sky.

More then scared I just give up when I meet a SCR with 5x SSRM6 in a light, it's just a matter if I'll die on the first alpha or on the second :D

Running doesn't work either, they are quite fast too.

Oddly, I have a strange luck when it comes to SSRM boats...they always seem to be looking in the wrong direction at a teammate. Since I'm usually in my Ember or Jenner when it happens, I pop off a couple alphas at their backs, and bug out.

It's regular SRM boats that hurt me more often for whatever reason.

Ember, Spider D and DWF-Trio in that order. The first two take a hilarious amount of damage the third is a very common sight and a pain in the ass.

    1. NARcing lights, those guys are teamplayers and a pretext to LRM death or being visible and outmaneuvred. Few things raise my pulse as those do.

    2. The SRM Warhawk is pretty badass, only seen it rarely but it's real scary. 70 kph, 24 SRM's and pulselasers.

    3. Most tripple or quad SRM medium brawlers, mean mothers all of them...

Dire Whales can be outmaneuvred, in fact most mechs can be handled in a lance. Maybe not before they kill you though. ;)

I'm a little surprised at myself for not saying lights in general, cause a good light pilot is damn scary. Or a BJ-1X as a friend of mine excels in. It might be a sign of the current times with lights being rarer then ever?

One of my Mad Dog uses 6 x SRM 4 + ML and my most effective so TBR in terms of kills has 4 x SRM 6 + ML so beware the heavies too. ;)

Strangely not sure any of my summoners use SRM's. :(

Mad Dogs (and I've been running a SRM build too) feel too fragile for their speed or armor to run as SRM brawlers. Crows or mediums get away with it cause of their agility, I'm not nearly as succesfully with the Dogs.

The Timber is sweet in a SRM build but somehow I find it less frightening, maybe cause I love them so much? ;)

    True enough.
As a light I'm usually not their primary target, but they're mine.

edit: the greatest feeling being to NARC them back. Adios precious ECM, brace yourself and prepare for the rain
