Any Star Citizens out there?

Anyone out there looking to get involved in Star Citizen?

It's an org that has been around in EVE, SWG, M59, blah blah blah for the last 12 years and is now up and running for Star Citizen. I would love to see some of you clowns over there and joining up!

Never too early to start cause when the PU goes live we can hit the ground running!

 

But the game its still like 1 year away from release, and i mean basic release. Also im not sure what can happen with it; in one hand it looks great in every sense, in other hand it will be like a million time more graph consuming that all games to date, maybe taking a lot of potential customer out of it.

It can be as great as bad, depends a lot. If they put the amount of work other placed, like the original release of SWtOR, it will be a HUGE hit, if they choose to hurry-release with tons of potential annoying bugs, then it will be doomed cause of the overwhelming cost of the project itself.

Im waiting for it, but my faith is in a moderate level, i may not even be able to play it without a new computer, and thats a thing i cant afford right now, im still paying this laptop.

When the Game is released i'll buy a new comp with an Octa-Core@4GHz, 64GB RAM, and the most recent GPU (maybe even Dual GPU) to test/play this game on the max Details on an UltraHD Screen. Chris already made clear that the recent Console Hardware (PS4/Xbox One), which is comparable to a standard PC with a bit gaming power of nowadays, won't get a Release of Star Citizen because of the lack of the Power. That means, you need to get ready for an uptodate PC Upgrade.

Until Release i patiently watch the Dev Logs on Youtube. Everything looks very promising, but i find it really crazy how much Money the Community is throwing at Chris (50+ Mill. now!). It's more than many Game Projects could ever get from their Publisher Company. And that craziness borders on stupidity. The higher the people throwing money at Chris, the higher the Content Demands of the community will become, everyday. I see a risk of 99% Disappointment of the Majority of the Community, if things are not done the way they want. There will be an extremely high Community Pressure than it has ever been before for a game. The Rant in the MWO community, where People here in MWO bashing at People with Gold Mechs etc. only because they didn't get what they wanted? Ha! Wait until the day when Chris suddenly makes some Decisions/Changes against the wishes of the Community.

I really hope he delivers something worth all the "Donations" (as how he personally sees it) and not something buggy und unbalanced like MWO, and then he suddenly disappears with all the money he got. The Game is making progress but i see so much doubt in all the promises Chris did - it sounds too fantastic what he wants to realize. If something is suddenly rolled back - outch! The Community will not only whine.

I'm balls deep in Star Citizen right now including replicating what I've done here at MechSpecs over on another site (currently under reconstruction away from SMF).

In fact Smurfy has also teamed up with me this time to do a ground up project using a forum software which I WISH I had known about when I remade MechSpecs. We are slowly building that project out but there is no real rush since SC is a year away.

 

I haven't pre-ordered this game yet. I plan on starting off in the worst POS ship the game has and working my way up from there. So all these ship packs they've been releasing don't appeal to me whatsoever. However, I am looking forward to earning these badass looking spacehogs through blood, sweat, and tears. Mostly tears.

Rather irritated I didn't go for the Freelancer missile version as they gelded my prefered small missile boat, aka the Gladiator, badly right after.

 

Ahhh the Freelancer MIS... I have one but it isn't LTI... Not overly concerned about LTI actually... Hell the 350R I get on Payday might not even have LTI on it. Bolththrower (one of the guys in HDY) figures in October they will be having an anniversary sale... So just keep that in mind for the MIS.

 

don't get me wrong, I got a 325a and will probably buy 1 more ship before the PU gets in alpha, but you boys are dropping serious cash on something that you have no idea what 'value' it holds...

Glad you're paying for additional development/resources at RSI, but... serious cash. If you can spend 1-2 weeks playing and get a ship that just cost you $200, that seems...an interesting choice. And this coming from a guy with ~$550 in MWO.

 

Squadron42 is the "mode" you will want as that will be the story to sink your teeth in to. They are releasing it in chapters too so it has the potential to be ever expanding.

As for visuals, I am guessing you are playing on a 1080? Get a better card + monitor... 4k if you can afford it, then check it out!

 

I'll echo that as I've been alternating between a 30" at 2560 x 1600 (60MHz) and a 27" at 2560 x 1440 (144MHz) and its very tasty. Of course if you want a more polished game check out Elite Dangerous if you can. I've borrowed an oculus rift headset to test it on that game and it really made me sit up despite having played Valkyrie at the Eve Online Fanfest in Iceland.

What monitors specifically are you using? Cause I'm in the market to upgrade my old Samsung P2350 (1080p).

It's such a shame having a 780 Ti and not even really being able to stretch the legs on it.
