What is your "Around the Corner" song?

Well, if you ever watched Metalocalypse, Brandon Small is a huge Amon Amarth fan. He said it was one of his main influences for Dethklok.

For some reason, everyone seemed to dig 'Bodies' from the debut album, but this is my favourite. Lyrics are a little nihilistic, but it has a great rhythm to head bang to and the solo rocks.

For a nu-metal track, it's actually quite musical. I like the bass guitar groove in the quieter, more melodic phrases.

 

There was a Metal bar called Peelers down in Jax Beach I used to live at while I was stationed in Mayport.
I caught these guys down there before they hit. Musically they were fine... as good as any other band that frequented the place, but Fred Durst..... My take back then was Vocals equating to the musings of a whiney little bitch. The sound is heavier now, but the front man is the same spoiled white kid from Jacksonville.... I actually liked this track before he opend his mouth.

 

One of the best moments in video game music history. Man, that track brings me back!

Ok so now that the World Cup is in full swing (haven't missed a match yet), I figured I'd drop a selection from the FIFA video game series - this one comes from the FIFA12 soundtrack. I don't know a single thing that they are saying, maybe if any of you speak German you'll get more out of it, but this is definitely a slow motion around the corner track (just consider the 60~65 BPM, vocal dynamics, and structural buildup )
