I have better success (and excitement!) with the Oxide than with the Cat.
The Cat has a superior fire-power but he easily disabled by cutting its ears off - all my recent games ended with no weapon left but still half my missiles. Overall you're much less vulnerable and more flexible with the Oxide, engaging and disengaging is way easier than with any medium or heavy SRM-boat, not to mention you are sneakier, and also sometimes underestimated ;)
The only drawback is how it's heavily ammo dependent (500 missiles is sometimes really not enough, even though now that missiles are hitting I ran out less often).

epikt, i was just teasing you! Ofc i know that Jenners are way better for the Skirmish-Ninjastar-Splash-Playstyle! Catpults are suboptimal for that role, but still i could deal respectable scores with the Splashbuild. That means the Power of SRMs are back now! And it`s damn cruel!

I`m still looking forward to a 1K+ Score with the oxide from you! ;)

Oh don't worry I didn't felt insulted or whatever ;) It's just that after the SRM fix I dropped with several SRM-boats (Oxide, Catapult and Griffin) and I found the Oxide to be the most successful. It worth being written on this thread.

1000+ would be difficult if not impossible without arty, since your maximum damage with 500 missiles is 1075.
But I'm currently running this build with 3 modules (target info gathering, radar deprivation and shock absorbency) and I don't know which one to sacrifice since all are really useful (shock absorbency probably).

Then do it with Arties, since you don't have any secondary weapons, so it`s not even dishonorable! :D

Here's two 800+ games I captured on video, including some thoughts and advice on how to pilot this build.
Both on River City, because for what ever reason I can't stop dropping on this map recently  I can't say I'm a fan of this map but I must admit that as long as you're able to close the distance the mech really shines on it.

Looks like I'm gonna master my 4th Jenner. It's like an RC helicopter with a 12 gauge!

epikt, you make fire timing look so easy...
With the pink text and all, I'd even call your video sexy. :p

I've been working on a "crazier ammo" variant loading 550 missiles (the worst being I still run out of ammo :( ).
I could have downgrade the engine even lower (270 = 137.5kph, 265 = 134.9kph) but to be honest I'm not comfortable with losing more speed. So I striped armor, mostly from the arms:

I noticed I didn't take a lot of damage on arms and (rear) side torsos, so I find it ok to shave the armor a bit on those locations. Also, if you lose an arm you only lose 1/4 of your fire-power, it's ok. On the other hand, I would never remove a single point from CT (where I take most of the damage) and legs (already one of the Oxide's weakness because of the absence of jets).
As for all armor adjustment it's very personal and depends on playstyle, so I suggest you experiment and tweak these values to find something you're comfortable with.

FYI, here's are screenshots of damage repartition at the end of the games, too see how this mech takes damage:

I'll see if I can fit 0.5t more, or if it makes the mech too fragile.

I'm now using a build with 6 tons of ammo and slowly get closer to the K damage (978 without arty :phear:).
I'm still using the XL280 (I'm afraid the 270 would be too slow, but I might test it one day) so it means even less armor. I'm still tweaking the repartition, now I often lose my arms but I don't want to weaken the side torsos too much.

I like the XL 280 build the most, very effective. Murders those pesky Kit Foxes and adders very nicely. I still find myself running out of ammo though, but i'm scared to go slower or cut armor :(

Some in-game friends of mine started to run an XL 255 version because of the ammo issues. That thing is still running at nearly 130 kp/h, but that's a tad slow for my taste.

@Aylek, maybe they could consider this instead:

130kph is far too slow, you only have a 15 kph difference between SHD lighthunters instead of 30!

Better compromise on the armor than on the engine, 280 is already low enough.
Fortunately the Jenner hitbox (in a word: takes everything on the CT) allows some radical armor optimization: my build mount an XL280 and carries 6 tons of ammo.

I still die mostly from CT destruction.
But I don't think I can shave more, you're never safe from an unlucky LT hit. Also, this armor repartition makes you vulnerable to streaks (that spread over all components almost evenly).

after testing many variants I must say this thing still needs most armor it can wear, and max engine due to giant CT, and 5T ammo is needed (could use a 6th buy hey, can't have it all, won't buy an XL295 just for this).

Running this version, I was reluctant but I must say it's really funny, and actually vs lights the SRM2 spam is even better then srm4

It's not an XL295 just for this :D

XL295 does great if you're not using 2 DHS slots and need more tonnage, and is the max engine of the RVN-3L (and aso the KTO-GB I believe). Also fits great on CTF-3D dual gauss builds! I've originally bought it for my JR7-D 'Alpha'.

The 295 is fine on a lot of machines you're usually seeing with a 300, namely all of the Jenners or Shadowhawks / 55t mechs. KTO-GB can only mount a 290, which is a pretty freaky engine.

and yet another game where I should have had an XL295, couln't finish off the last atlas because I ran out of ammo.

Might trade one of the CT srm4 with another sm2 and add a T on ammo, even tho I fear I will be too hot then (anyway I'm starting to love SRM2s, really nice spam and DPS).

More armor on the arms and side torsos won't turn into more armor on the CT => reduce the armor on parts not taking damage, don't diminish the firepower.
I striped more than 1.5t on mine, keeping CT and legs maxed of course, and I'm still dying from CT destruction most of the time.

BTW, your build is here, rightfully named "Mini-Freak" : http://www.mechspecs.com/threads/jenner-oxide-mini-freak-2x-srm4-2x-srm2-xl300.4207/
