Guys I don't want to step on Michaels toes by posting the videos here myself. Michael is absolutely right, I am sending my nearly raw videos to him so he can post them. I had intended on making less work for him but instead I am making more because by the time he gets done adding the mechspecs front end I have already posted mine and lets face it...I am not interesting enough to watch more than once or twice. So essentially he is going to all that effort for nothing. At the same time I don't want my efforts to be in vain either (fewer views that get credited to my channel and fewer subscribers) so I will still be sending my videos to Michael and you will be able to find them on the users build page as usual but my flavor of videos with my added music and flair will remain solely on my YouTube channel. That way visitors to my page (KTFO_BlindSide) will get to see my videos and Michael will get full credit for the videos I send him for posting here (this helps him to make money off them and in turn helps us mech spec'ers because that money helps pay for all his hard work) I will continue to let you know when videos pop up of interest but they will no longer be posted here or on the mechs individual pages. That all said I have sent Michael my lastest video and for once It is one of my own builds based on the Stalker 3F...look for it soon in the user builds section!
Lol monetary considerations aside (YouTube makes $13.00 or so a month), it does provide content for people other than my drill sergeant voice droning on and on during drops.
If I finally get around to editing my videos a bit and giving them commentary, where should i send them for MechSpecs-ification?
Upload them on your own channel and I can pull down the 720 version and cut them. Then PM me the build sheet and commentary etc.
hmpf, i want to share some game captures as well. But the video files i produced are more than 12gb large (FRAPS). Uploading them on youtube takes soo long. Do you know any tools to boost the upload speed? It's aweful to wait hrs to get one game vid online.
I use Sony Vegas to convert them to Windows Media WMV files which are the best size... The video I uploaded from Ians source was only 600mb.
wmv isn't the best choice. It's smaller, but youtube will reconvert it and you WILL have a noticeable loss in quality. Youtube can take H.264 or WebM encoded video without having to reencode. H.264 will be in an mpeg container, webm has its own container. VLC (free) can do the conversions easily.
i use Free Studio and try different encoding formats.. i just want to convert it to sub 1gb size. 12gb is just too big
Okay...this wasn't EVER going to be a video...personally a build that strips 90% of its armor off, is woefully under engined..and GASP! no laser backup is not something I am going to review and play. FORTUNATELY for you though I got bored and wanted a laugh and said...oh what the F(&)*! lets have some fun...I ran Snipers 3x Gauss build on his Ilya...oh boy was I giggling. Look for the video later today I might even send it to Michael so he can have a laugh deciding if he is going to post it or not.
New Video! Will be posted today. This is the last in my heavy series. No spoilers but it involves a certain named Cataphract and an ammo only build. I know RIGHT?! Next I will be focusing all of my attention to assaults followed by mediums then...sigh, lights. I suck TERRIBLY at lights. Well okay I suck with ALL mechs but lights I am really bad at so don't be expecting 1000 damage 7 kill games. Also I have a request as well. If there is anyone who can make or give me advice on how to make an intro I can use for ALL of my videos please let me know. I am sick of looking at my videos and thinking a 5 year old slapped it together with a broken crayon.
well, you were kinda running into his ballistics in a straight line should've kept ducking after buildings now the hitboxes are fixed. Why are you playing with throttle decay btw? I don't understand why people like it, you have much less control over your actual speed just so you have to press a few less buttons! Maybe you can shed some light on that
