For me the Pighead is all about having 6 energy hardpoints on the arms. Iy you are not using that there are better atlas variants on the list. So here I give you a armored beast for ranges both long and short. Non AMS Version.
Looks good, tempting to get a boars head. Just one question why don't you put some more of the heatsinks into the engine? That way you wont risk loosing any should your left side take a beating. Or am I misunderstanding something?
As far as I'm aware, you're not missing something. If you put them in the engine, thy can't get blown out when you lose a ST, and in an Atlas, that WILL happen. Besides, if you lose your CT, you're out anyway. There is no benefit whatsoever to not having all 4 DHS in that engine. Edited to correct error about putting DHS in engine upgrading them to true doubles.
So I tried it out last night and was immediately reminded of why I hate the Gauss Rifle HAHAHA. I was constantly going at it though and then it happened. CASE failed. HAHAHA my entire right side disappeared. Had a total FML moment. I have been pretty consistent with dealing a good amount of damage though so I'll keep it or I might go with an LB-10X.
I tried the gauss build, but I found out I was terribad with guass rifles. I switched it out for an AC20, and I've gotten great performance out of this beast.
This is one of the builds I am also using for my Boar's Head. It's still like shiny new, though, coming from the latest 50% flash sale. One thing that I changed from the start on is mounting both LLas on the left arm. This is a lesson I learned from piloting my Misery, where an assymmetrical build favouring the non-ballistic side of the mech is more often than not very favourable for retaining firepower even if that side torso is blown off. Finally, lowering the leg armor allows to mount an additional DHS. This is my version for this loadout:
Tried this for a while but ended up swapping to an AC20. My Gauss skills need work, I miss the firing time to often. Still probably the best build if you can gauss correctly
