I have on my MAD-IIC a 2xLPL 5xMPL build that works very nicely. Trying to see what pulse lasers work best on the WHM-IIC-3 I came up with this: <smurfy link update> https://mech.nav-alpha.com/#6c879ce6_WHM-IIC Should hopefully be able to play a decent poking game in the 350-450 meter range, and if pressed in the late game should be a decent pinpoint laser brawler.
Post skill-up report: Adequate. Again, the WHM-IIC feels like a really mediocre mech until you get it at least 1/3 -1/2 way skilled up, then it feels decent and when fully skilled up is pretty reliable. I think going mobility is very important, the accel/decell and turning nodes having priority to get it handling decently. This works pretty nicely. I think the 2xLPL/5xMPL build probably works fine too. But I like the better heat management and speed on this thing. Alternate skill tree build maxing out 15% range might be worth it, and swapping out the AMS for a TC1 would also be worth it to give your med pulsies a little more reach. I like having one of my WHM-IIC's set up with an AMS load though, and this is the one it ended up on.
