So in otherwords the Huginn is crap. Plain and simple. There is no ballistic (currently) that matches the criteria you mentioned.
Pretty much. The total lack of energy hard points really hurts a light. It isn't a large enough mech to make use of all those missile tubes, and ultimately your options are very limited.
If they would introduce Heavy MG in the game then, maybe that is what we should be asking PGI to do. A ballistic weapon that is already there in this timeline currently that dials direct damage and is less powerful than AC2. Lower damage, much less range, but lighter and a bit less heat. Also, this. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Light_Rifle
Hell, 3T, 270M range, 1 damage with a 1 second cooldown and 300 rounds/ton ammo would even be acceptable for a light. PGI has already had enough "canon be damned" moments that they can just do what the hell they want! However, I really just hope that this thing is pulled... This is like having a hero Locust with a 100 engine cap.
...if it weren't named "Huginn". Is there something I'm missing here (I'm no MW lore expert)? This has got to be the stupidest name I've seen yet. At least the other hero mech names have some passing reference to something e.g. Firebrand, Boarshead, Ember. Oxide at least sounds cool. Huginn sounds like the name of a drummer for Spinal Tap or a reference to "Amanda Huginkiss" - Bart Simpson's favorite prank phone call. Tell me there's more to the name than the sound one of the developers made when squeezing out number 2.
One of Odin's Ravens... I actually thought the name was pretty smart. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huginn_and_Muninn Huginn doesn't really live up to it's name though. A raven that is tasked with bringing "information to the god Odin" would be expected to have a good range of electronic warfare. At least on the level of the 3L (which currently has access to all of it...).
To make this 'Hero' mech worth something when you push it off the side of the road into the ditch you'd have to tape a C-bill to the dash. Whichever designer thought this mech was worthy of being called a 'Hero' deserves to have his Happy Meal taken from him when eating outside at Mickey D's by a murder of real ravens.
Thanks for fixing my ignorance. I probably should have checked wikipedia before making poop references. This does provide an interesting possibility, however. If they are going to mirror the mythology then there should be a second hero raven coming out called the Muninn. Maybe they'll produce a pair like for the Dragon.
Now, don't get me wrong, this thing isn't the new meta, but after running mine for about a dozen matches I like it. It's a fun mech to run and it is certainly different than all the other lights.
