Cool stuff, I was wondering if MechDB was able to do theory crafting, didn't realize you could set up custom mechs like that, nice. Interesting thoughts. Doesn't the SR-1 just have one ballistic hardpoint in each torso? Couldn't do KDK-3 builds. Ah, I see. The standard loadout just has 2 ballistic, but it has 4 total.

For our convenience and pleasure (all variants also have pretty good armor quirks): SR-1: Gauss Cooldown -15%, Ballistic Velocity +15%, Heat -5%. SR-2: Ballistic Cooldown -10%, Range +5%, Laser Duration -5% SR-3: Missile Range +10%, Heat -5%, ATM velocity +20% SR-4: Heat -5%, Velocity +15% SR-6: Clan ERML HSL +1 SR-7: Cooldown -7.5%, Heat -5%, Range +5%, Laser Duration -7.5% SR-KOLOSS: SRM/SSRM Velocity +20%, Missile Range +10%, Spread -10%, SRM/SSRM HSL +2, Heat -5% Commentary: The SR-1 leans towards Gauss/Lasers, but quad GR is kinda... meh, IMHO. Maybe if you max out the cooldown on top of the quirk, the quad gauss will work. But I would be tempted to stick with a dual gauss/lasers, or 4xAC + either ERPPC or lasers build. The SR-2, with only two ballistic hardpoints, also leans towards Gauss/lasers. My 2xAC10, 2xERPPC, 6xSPL also benefits a little from the quirks. The SR-3 wants to tempt you into making an ATM boat. Assaults though really aren't a great platform for ATM's, which need a lot of mobility to get into good firing positions. Also the damage nerf to ATM's really hurt them. So you can make either a LRM whale, or, I still like my weird mixed ERPPC/SRM brawler. 10% range quirk stacked with 15% skill tree really helps SRM's *alot*. The SR-4 seems to be nicely quirked towards my suggested 3xAC10, 2xERPPC build. Nice velocity quirk. Load it up with 6 autocannons, or any combination of AC/GR/ERPPC. 4 missile hardpoints is enough to work with too for either 4xLRM20, 4xSRM6, or big ATM's. The SR-6 ERML HSL +1 seems a little lackluster. I suppose you could go big laser vomit with 2xHLL, 7xERML. You could end up being slot challenged to get it truly optimal. Might want to go with the lower slot-count LPL's. 2 or 3 LPL's, plus 7xERML. Might be able to get enough HS's to even alpha three LPL's plus the ERML's without overheating - that could have some potential. The SR-7 with laser duration, range, and heat looks like a nice candidate for boating HLL's. I may go with my suggested build of 4xHLL, + red lasers backup. Gives you a solid (if long duration) midrange peak, and if anything closes you can fight off lights and mediums pretty nicely. KOLOSS. that SRM +2 HSL is just too cool to not look at. You can build an uber-Scorch (2xLB20X, 6xSRM6), or you can go energy/missile with 3xERPPC, 6xSRM6. Or something completely different. Clan streaks post-damage nerf are kinda sucky, so I don't think you want to streak boat it. But lot of interesting options here.
