I tried this build lately and it works quite well. 5tons of SRM.Ammo should be enough for a long Match and with Max Armor + Standard Engine you can go into Close Range Combats with success. By the way - get ready to go Zombie with a Single LPL! Alternate Build with 1 less DHS and 1ton more Ammo: Blagg
thx.. yeah the first is quite good. The second is only for some sniping ability and a different playstyle. If you dont Alpha everything but only the SRMs the Heat Production is the same. The big difference is the Amount of Ammo. I think 700 SRM.Missiles = 35 Volleys is maybe too much, if you dont constantly have the chance to brawl in close range. Thats why i suggested the Alternate. Blagg
Very solid build! However I'd personally run a STD 275 because it's the first after a 'new heatsink' milestone and I have a spare one in my garage. Also I find that 700 SRMs are overkill. Judging from the score you got in the picture you should too (or you missed 2/3rd of your SRMs and not have fired a laser). Maybe I'm playing wrong but the match is usually over before I get to fire all 35 salvos it gives me. 400 SRMs are usually what I need to finish though that might change with 12v12. Removing some armor and ammo gives me this build: http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=46&l=02480eaccf6f0cef78549a208d341d1c690060be You can get armor back up to full if you remove additional ammo.
Blagg, this is a gorgeous concept. It's everything that I wanted in an SRM Awesome, but the Stalker has the hardpoints and tonnage to pull it off. SubjectSeven--as usual--you squeeze every last ounce of performance out of the concept.
Very reasonable Tweak! Thank you!!! Its even better than my original suggestion. I take the change in my build from your suggestion. I even go ST280 now with 5tons of SRM.Ammo and slightly more Leg.Armor. Thumbs up! Blagg p.s. yes that was just a testrun.. i wasnt very good at that match, missed much, but still i could brawl something.
Done some more tweaking to fit in that beauty of an STD300, the increase in speed (5.6 kph is a LOT on an assault!) helps hitting your SRMs a lot. As I said I usually don't use more than 400SRM ammo. It had a bit less armor than I'd like but i'd rather have AMS than full armor atm. I really enjoy tinkering and playing this build. The first one where I believe zombieing might actually be effetive, because an LPL is some serious shit.
Yup. I like it. That 300 just feels so much more natural... It's in half my mechs. XL300 or STD300 depending how I feel that afternoon.
Ran this a bit more. Not as much punch as my last build I used. But MUUUUCH cooler! I can actually survive and rack up some kills with this beast. My last build was fire and then go grab a coke while she cooled off somewhere. Huge alpha, could not sustain in a brawl with more than one target. This mech? I ran with XL300 and additional heat sinks and fought on all day! Barely a concern with heat. I use the SRMs as my main weapon and only fire the LLas OR the LPL, depending on range. Leaving one class of energy weapons out of the firing rotation makes this mech 48-58% heat efficient and still incredibly deadly! Good on ya, my friend! Chatt.
You are a dangerous Mofo to be running an XL300 in a Stalker Chattahah. I REALLY love shooting the side's off these mechs, and it's even better when people run XL's in it. But, If you can manage it, You should do fine with the XL.
Agree with Vergere. Brawling with XL is no good idea. Especially not with the Stalker. The only case id run XL is LRM Boat, but still risky if you get caught in Close Range.
Here's the key, fellas... Kill them first. lol Really, that is all I try to do. I'm just in it to have fun. I don't care too much if I die. My Kill/Death ratio is not on my mind in a match. I'm just there to cause chaos and melt face! The XL isn't too much of a problem aside from very fast mediums and lights. If you stick to an ally, they won't have time to sit and hammer on your side. Plus, that firepower will take down mechs quick. I know, the XL is a ticking timebomb, but I live on the edge, my friends!
