    Hey everyone :D

Been a while since I posted a build, so i thought to myself: why not?
I've been levelling stalkers to get my 3F (best one imo due to much larger torso angle) elite, and I had to find a nice and cheap build to make levelling my 4N fun (and different from my 3F). Cheap in this case is relative, these are weapons and an engine I had lying around in my MechLab! It's not a complete scrapheap build because I still opted to get EndoSteel and DHS, but IMO at least the DHS is a must on energy-based stalkers (if you want to have a fun time shooting instead of overheating at least). Endo was necessary to fit my spare STD300 while also leaving enough tonnage for some nice weaponry (too little crit slots for ERPPCs though)

The ML/LPL/SSRM make him really good short range, also against lights. The ERLL give me long range poke, but to save heat you can also downgrade to regular LL.
Place the ER lasers high up in the build, since they're mostly meant for poking over hills and such. if you use them during short ranged battle, you'll quickly overheat, but it may sometimes be necessary to get that last bit of damage on a mech. as said before, switch them out for regular LL if you find them too hot and don't think the extra 50% range is worth it.
The STD300 engine makes the stalker relatively quick for an assault, which is nice to either keep your distance to poke with the LLs or get close quickly for the medium ranged weapons, depending on the tactical situation.
I find that this build does pretty well in PUGs. Eventually if you don't have a 300 but a 275 or something, feel free to swap the engine out and load some heavier weapons (maybe more LPLs or free critslots for PPCs).

    Thanks for reading,

EDIT: Apparently this is just a quicker, heat friendly version of the 4N "Mixed" on this forum :p

Good build. Stalkers are the epitome of the assault mech class. Big, brutal and almost unstoppable. If you don't mind losing a bit of range and it isn't too much like your 3F, try this alternative.

I personally always have engines that are multiples of 25 (exceptions of XL255 and XL280 since they weigh the same as the 250 and 275 resp.) because it's the border of getting an extra heatsink and especially on assault mechs, that extra 5 engine rating isn't going to do much.
Besides that it's too much like my 3F build, but worse :p I prefer having 4xSRM6+artemis over 2xMPL and 2xSSRM2
