The replacement for the ppc-boat hunchback has arrived, with extra viability. A totally unoriginal build that people predicted immediately upon seeing the hardpoints. Still, I think this is the optimized version and hope you guys will enjoy the shoulder of blue cannon thingies!
My anti-cheese impulses wouldn't let me make that build, so I made this one instead: If it plays like my K2 did with triple LgPls, then it will melt light legs like crazy.
I'd prefer the pulse laser version just because of the min. range issue of a pure PPC build. If I were doing PPC's, I'd mount two of them and use the extra tonnage for 3 streaks to keep the Lights away.
97.2 kph is enough for most of the match to disengage hard. 2PPC+3SSRM may indeed be a very interesting build though.
My variation based on personal preference. very similar optimization to Daekar's, but with PPCs instead of LPLas. I'll be testing extensively soon.
Gave my variation a try last night. The 30 point alpha is very nice for a medium in that super-high hardpoint. The build was so hot that I couldn't sustain fire extremely well on neutral maps. Felt like the 3rd PPC was a waste because only 2 bring me near overheat rather quickly. It was nice to chain-fire them, but it defeats the purpose of this mech as a pop-tart. I am now curious if 2PPC+1ERLL might work well.
Is not better 2PPC+LPLas? i know the range is way less, but the delivering time of the dmg is reduced to 0.6 secs.
You could very well do that. The Large Laser or ER Large Laser look attractive to me because of the range AND because it frees some tonnage for more double heat sinks and a larger engine. Or keep the smaller XL280, drop a DHS, and take more JJ and armor.
Yeah, i had the same idea of the extra 2 tons, but still placed myself in the Poptart, and while JJ reload u have time to freeze up. I have to check this spec
