Chain streaks accompanied by UAC5 for the suppression factor (granted it won't jam after first few shells) After several rounds of testing i've observed that: - AMS was seeing next to no use - It's running hot in an extended brawl - I've actually got legged quite a few times... I've decided to replace AMS with an additional DHS and possibly exchanging the engine for a bit powerful version, once i get enough money to actually buy it:
I think this would be to use a standard AC5 instead of the UAC5. Those 5 second long breaks are evil for the only weapon reaching beyond 300m.
You can just single tap the UAC/5 to have constant AC/5 dps. The reason i've taken the UAC/5 though is because i've already destroyed quite a few mechs 1v1 by circling and firing chain streaks along with double tapping the shoulder gun. Your enemy is simply unable to react properly while he's getting constantly barraged with exploding stuff in his face. I originally wanted to use AC/2 for the same purpose, but it felt too weak. With XL300/295 you should be fast enough to disengage when the situation gets hot and/or your gun is jammed. Didn't try it with AC/5 yet though, gonna check it out.
Quad SSRM2 + AC5 should provide sufficient screen shake. Note the difference in cooling efficiency, though.
I pilot the OP same mech and have for some time. The UAC/5 is absolutely ridiculous on this thing. The major difference between it and the AC/5 is the burst damage you are capable of if you need it. So many times I have double tapped twice in a row to finish out a shoulder or torso when an assault is thinking 'easy kill'. I was never a fan of the UAC/5 until this mech. It makes it amazing. I will grab some SS (usually don't unless it is 1000+) but I averaged in the last 6-7 wins about 700 damage with this thing. I can say that I rarely run out of ammo, but I know that when I do it is going to be a 700+ damage game. I have both chain fire and reg on the streaks and use them situationaly. I default to all 4 at once, though. 5/5
Single UAC5 is great. It's relatively low tonnage for strong burst. since it's not likely your main weapon having only 1, you can still do damage when it jams. Maybe not at long range but then you just pop into cover a bit. Multiple UAC5s as main weapon is what I tend to shy away from, because all your really scary damage is going to be in the hands of fate, giving your build a much larger inconsistency. I liked this build when I ran it a lot
