When I sit down and look at this mech, the term "glorified turret" is what often comes to mind. All you really need to do in this thing is find a hill to hump, pop your boom box shoulder out, find an unwitting foe to go dakka at, and rain lead on their face until your gun jams. Then you pop back down, let your gun unjam, maybe cool off for a second, and then rinse and repeat until your ammo runs dry. Even if something does come from out of the bushes to knife you, you have five medium lasers to slap them around a bit with outside of just the RAC 5. It may not be meta, it may not be cohesion friendly, you may not be sharing armor. But at the end of a long day, when you just want to fart around and have a bit of fun, this build will do the trick. Hope you guys enjoy, I love hearing feedback and ideas from other people.
If it loses the left side torso, it loses 7 DHS total (4 from the engine, 3 from the external DHSs), so its heat dissipation will be more than halved. If it loses the right side torso, it will lose most weaponry except for 2xML... IMHO its not really worth it to survive in both cases With an XL275 (also EVEN MOAR MEME BUILD, YAY!) you get more speed (+16 km/h on a ~73 km/h build, it's a ~+20% speed upgrade), and you can fit even more cooling (+2 DHS) if you strip a bit of armor. More speed, especially on RAC builds, directly trasnlates to better ability to dodge (if you aim for the cockpit, the explosions will likely disrupt your target aiming), range dictation (getting closer or further) and moving from cover to cover (both firing while waiting for a jam and moving to cover while jammed)... Which are very important on RAC builds because RAC are not meant to trade against poke-builds: so it's either better to take someone out in the open or negate your target's cover by pushing it. If someone keeps firing at you for brief moments, you will very likely lose any attempt trade. On a side note, I'd drop some ammo (2 tons of RAC5 should be more than enough, especially with skills) and swap LAMS for regular AMS to further improve heat efficiency. Also, I've stripped a bit of armor from the arms becaue they rarely get focused and can't be used to take incoming damage, so it's almost useless armor (except for the right arm, which fits 2 DHS).
I can understand where you are coming from with your build, going with an XL to get best speed and if you lose your hunch, you lose a lot of damage potential, so I understand why. I'm just no fan of XL's because with most IS mechs having big broad shoulders, you can get wrecked pretty easily. At least the LFE is a good middle ground between weight and survivability. As for the ammo, I noticed in training grounds that 350 rounds wasn't enough for me but 700 could get me through a match at least. Just another approach to the same mech idea. Besides, memes weren't meant to be serious anyway. I have fun just acting like a sentry bot with legs and a chain gun.
