    Hi there,

I just bought the QKD 5K and did quite nice with that loadout. Of course it´s simple, but very effective. Have fun testing it :)

I just ran a similar build and had really great results with it. I didn't want to spend any more c-bills putting it together so I just used what was available in my stock.

I just bought my first Quickdraw, a 5K, and ended up running a variation of this build. I put a slightly bigger engine in it because I'm used to the speed of my Centurions. I want to like this mech, but it tends to run hot and a little low on firepower. I'm not too sure how to improve it though. Maybe I just need to get the hang of this mech and stop trying to pilot it like a Centurion. It might benefit from a smaller engine, but I'm not sure.

Downgraded the engine and dropped Endo to make room for more heat sinks and more armor.

EDIT: Tweaked it again and like it better.
Added Endo again and removed some heatsinks, replaced the large lasers with PPCs and put a bigger engine in it.

    Less brawler, more meta :p

My version. More JJ. Seem to go around better. Also, AMS.

    DHS instead of JJ

Another savage fighter this one focusing on longer range engagements. Same as my 4H build this one relies on the pilot making maximum use of terrain and the jump capabilities of this mech.

I think this mech build deserves it's own topic, due to the high speed nature of it. 5-5 stars.

I had been using a similar build, but without BAP. This is just GREAT!

I'm using a quite similar build in my Quickdraw-5K

I suggest: (If you are up for a skillful Quickdraw-5K)

•Remove 2 JJs(3 JJs are enough to dodge Lasers and ACs)
•Exchange BAP with AMS and 1t ams ammo
•Downgrade engine to 85kph (for more focus fire and laser damage)
    •Mount 1x SSRM2 and 1t ssrm ammo
•put the remaining tons in the legs...why? because jumping will cause enemies to hit your legs most of the time

*SSRM can also be a finisher, and by the time you fired all your lasers already, jumpjets are ready (100%) to rock again! it's calculated xD

The last build should get a thread on its own. Both are absolute fun to play.

Still think this is by far the most practical build for this mech, though I use AMS instead of BAP.

Why BAP? This Weaponloadout needs more Cooling... and somehow Speed as well:

    or even drop AMS:

I ran this exact build as well when I first bought my 5K, but figured that I enjoy running faster and hotter. (Just a personal preference) I gave it a 360XL engine, only 14 heatsinks, and dropped the BAP.

Regardless, 5/5 stars to Kaiser's build. An excellent 'Mech.

I think the trick is to lower the engine size, not to use Endo and squeeze in even more DHS. Same as with Soy's Hellfire 3D.

AMS is a question of personal taste. Skip it for another DHs and more leg armor if you like to, cooling efficiency will be 46% then.

I went with an increased engine size (350) so that you could fit two more heat sinks in the engine. Everyone elses has a sub40% cooling, but mine is running at 42 and moves faster. Give it a try sometime!

PS: Mine only has one jumpjet... so if you can stand having less airtime, this might be for you.

PSS: Can take off one heatsink and have 40% cooling, and add another jumpjet.

Just broke 1000+ damage with this build, and it's not even elited! This build is full of win - all other builds are pretenders!

Been running this build for a while now, absolutely amazing what you can do with it.

I know, right?!? And it's only going to get better once 3^4 and tonnage matching actually drop!

When I originally designed the Bato variant of the QKD-5K, I was rather sparse in my reasoning for the components I chose. I have seen many excellent variants of this design. My reason for as many jump jets as it has if to be able to reach the top of any ridge in hilly terrain or tops of buildings. Sadly the quick-draw suffers some one major design flaw in MWO, its nearly the size of an atlas with the hit boxes to match and almost as easy to hit if you don't have maximum mobility. Of course maximum mobility is a relative term from one player to another. For me it means jumping down from a high ridge or building, alpha striking someone in the back or face and then jumping back up to the next building. I have heard many using from 1 to 3 JJ for dodging which for experienced pilots is perfectly acceptable. Also the reason I had BAP on this mech coupled with the large engine was because this mech was initially meant to bully light and some of the faster medium mechs and since a lot of the mechs you might be targeting will have ECM or will be escorted by others with ECM. I want to say im glad to see so many constructive idea about this mech and I just wanted to share my original design motivations.
