Nice little poptart. Enough heat sinks to fire essentially continously. As standard shield with your mostly empty side. Can go left and righty if you want but I prefer the focused attack on one location and ability to shield. Its an agile little mech so easy to relocate to fire.

Solahma's updated version for the new omnipods (currently $ only as of 27/01/2015). Vulnerability is hugely reduced and hard points are higher. Less aiming capability as fixed but definitely better:

Very nice. I'll have to give this a shot. May just replace my Shadowhawk Jump Sniper build for a bit. It's always nice to have actuated arms for your weapons.

I've had pretty good luck with the NVA-B by replacing the ballistic arm with a NVA Prime and put two C/ER PPC on it. Heat management is pretty good. If anyone has suggestions to make it better I'm all ears.

I was messing around with a similar build (theory anyway, haven't made it reality yet) that removed some of the heat sinks (by using the Prime RT/LT), but added in some ERSLas. While it runs hotter, it gives a lot of added power to the mech against lighter mechs that get in close, and if only using the PPCs OR the ERSLas, the heat would be more manageable. The only problem I see with going with the 2 ERPPC build and nothing else is that any Jenner/Ember that gets near you is going to be a serious problem, whereas a build with more lasers offers a fairly decent defense.

Still, works decently as a sniper or even a Nova Poptarter, so whatever floats your boat ;)

Few changes with this build. I have min/maxed it to make full use of the new omnipod quirks:
    NOVA
    NVA-PRIME LEFT ARM

    • ENERGY HEAT GENERATION: -5.00 %
    NVA-PRIME LEFT TORSO
    • TORSO TURN RATE (YAW): 10.00 %
    NVA-PRIME CENTER TORSO
    • TORSO TURN RATE (YAW): 10.00 %
    NVA-PRIME RIGHT TORSO
    • TORSO TURN RATE (YAW): 10.00 %
    NVA-PRIME RIGHT ARM
    • ENERGY HEAT GENERATION: -5.00 %
    NVA-B LEFT ARM
    • ARM MOVEMENT RATE (YAW): 5.00 % ARM MOVEMENT RATE (PITCH): 5.00 %
    NVA-B CENTER TORSO
    • TORSO TURN RATE (YAW): 10.00 %
    NVA-B RIGHT TORSO
    • TORSO TURN RATE (YAW): 5.00 %
    NVA-B RIGHT ARM
    • ARM MOVEMENT RATE (YAW): 5.00 % ARM MOVEMENT RATE (PITCH): 5.00 %
    NVA-S LEFT ARM
    • ENERGY HEAT GENERATION: -5.00 %
    NVA-S CENTER TORSO
    • TORSO TURN RATE (YAW): 5.00 %
    NVA-S RIGHT ARM
    • ENERGY HEAT GENERATION: -5.00 %
    NVA-A RIGHT TORSO
    • TORSO TURN RATE (YAW): 5.00 %

I separate the cERPPC to either side in-case a torso is taken out. Plus, the arms are the biggest target on this mech, you will lose that Arm mounted cERPPC more often than not.
TC1 for velocity and crit buffs.
"S" or Prime arms provide a cumulative -10% heat generation
Prime CT increases twist speed 10%
Prime LT increases twist speed 10%
"B" RT for the energy hardpoint and another increased twist speed 5%

That's a cumulative +25% twist speed! Pretty significant with it's smaller 250 engine.

Both sides also lets you peek left or right. Boating on one side means you have to expose 100% of your mech to shoot around some corners.

    It's all a tradeoff.

True, mounting them both in an arm means you can hug a corner in that direction very well, but very poorly in the other direction. You also have the benefit of arm actuators. On the other hand, the torso mount is much higher than the arms, so that cERPP can easily be used to peek over terrain. It's also very close to center so peeking off to one side is just about the same. It's also for durability reasons because it is A LOT more difficult to lose a torso then it is an arm on the Nova.

I do like running a Nova like this from time to time, though I go with the torso point more often than not. Being able to peek-a-boo just over a hill and fire a PPC is a handy tool to have.

Can't pretend I thought much of them when I ran them out again compared to some of the new IS quirked ER PPC mechs. The dual ER PPC just generates too much heat to easily soak up with a 10% heat bonus.

Revealing the whole of your mech to fire your only two weapons seems suicidal nowadays in such a slow moving mech unless you're poptarting and strangely the Nova just felt clumsy in the air - weird as the Mist Lynx with just one more JJ feels incredible in the air. On the ground its .... clumsy...

Irony that my heavy TBolt feels more graceful.

The 12 ERSL 4 MG version worked well in groups at least.

Hmmm I think of the Nova to be probably THE best jump sniper in the game right now. Very good turn rates, very good Juno height and speed, also it is a MEDIUM and can field builds usually reserved for heavies, A LA Nova tart for example. Comparing the effective firepower of a 65 ton heavy to the Nova just shows that this is one BADASS medium.

New omnipods allow for both cERPPC to be mounted in the side-torsos and strip the arm armor a bit. Much better hardpoints for this mech.

Heres an interesting dynamic though - would you use the 10% heat gen reduction from the Prime arms or the 10% cooldown bonus from the A arms?

With 18 DHS, heat reduction all the way.

What he said. I've run a few times, it is nearly un-playable on a hot map even with the 10% heat reduction.

Mmh thats interesting as I've not had much problem but it very definitely isn't a brawler.

I'll double check I got the arms right for the heat generation and my skills, but I'm pretty sure that I got the double-basics with GXP so i didn't have to wait. Was fun, especially on cold maps, but on hot maps like Terra Therma it was PAINFUL. More than I personally could enjoy. I kept thinking, I have a better time in the Nova Tart with 1/2 the armor...
I really enjoy the TBR with 2x cERPPC, but that build has ~5 more DHS and is still hot enough to be careful with your shots.

Oh agreed its a pig on TT. I find a lot of builds follow that pattern and I generally loathe that map coming up unless I'm in a ballistics heavy boat.

Edit: I will say that for me the inability to vent heat in the air really hurt builds like this which are energy pop tarts.
