This is my 1st build posted on MechSpecs and I figured since nothing has been posted for this variant of the nightstar i would give it a go. The premise of this build is a ranged fire support mech for quickplay with 4ac5s and a tc mk5 for some more velocity and range with 7 tons of ammo and an ecm. This probably isn't the worlds greatest mech I just figured since lbx5x4 is outta the question same with uac5x4 might as well try for the next best quad mount. I'm sure the TC could be scrapped for a mk1 and some more ammo/bigger engine if anyone wants to modify it that is a more veteran mech builder please feel free to.
It is a good idea to put your heat sinks into your engine to keep them protected. Also like Shock says you can reduce weight with Light FF and add some armor. Plus you get to squeeze in a bit more ammo..
i figured since im using a light engine i would use the double heat sinks as crit padding material since the ac5s generate moderate heat but still enough heat to warrant the use of a few more heatsinks.
Solaris adaptation (LE285 to fill last slot with more ammo is possible, but you're likely to die or kill at around the 4-5th ton anyway.
