    The goal is to alpha a target a couple times while running perpendicular, bug-out to cooldown, rinse/repeat.

    Group 1: 3 left arm SPLas
    Group 2: 3 right arm SPLas
    Group 3: 6 chained SPLAS



    More heat efficient than 6 MLas, but they can be swapped in straight across. I've had a lot more consistent matches with SPLas than with MLas due to it's discrete visual and sound. The red pulse is hard to notice or hear sometimes compared to the bright green MLas ZAAAAT beams.

    This is essentially the very first build I considered running when the specs were first released. I'm sure many others considered this as well, but I think it will be a popular build.

    I ran this build also, although can run a bit warm, easily managable with an above average pilot. Works well with a hit and run play style, however, it lacks range, which could lead to an early "retirement".

    Quirk pass 2 has made this build even better. The -25% laser duration brings the SPL down to 0.375s, very useful when fighting other lights.

    I'll have to give it a try again! Was intending on purchasing a second so I can have a ML and SPL one ready at all times.

    I just built mine the other day with 2xMPL and 4xSL under the old quirks. I agree this or 6xML may be the best combinations under the new quirks.

    All 3 combinations use 6 tons of lasers, so it wont be hard to swap out. This may take over as my favorite locust.

    I was going to post this build because I had a great match with it today but saw that you already basically posted what I'm running.

    I couldn't believe the damage number when I first saw it...

    Edit: Looked at the full loadout, I'm running a smaller engine (XL170) and using two additional double heatsinks. Can basically fire the SPLas on cooldown in alpha for a good while...

    This build -and various encounters against it- is the reaaon this variant is on my long list of mechs to purchase.

    Pretty fun. You really miss the range compared to the MLas 1E, or the JJs compared to an FS9-A, though. Runs cool enough that I'd consider an AMS if it weren't for how useless AMS is against SSRM6, let alone 30.

    It is a really fun build. The 1200 damage one was clearly a fluke (in case anyone was reading this and expecting that lol), I normally get around 400-700 damage in a game with this build depending on how long it went and if we win.

    I do love the completely "spammable" alpha that does a lot of damage. Get behind a heavy or assault and just keep unloading on them.

    tfun90 is definitely right though, you miss the range sometimes. It really shines in maps with lots of cover (like city maps).

    Eh, honestly I run the FS9-A so much, the range wasn't an issue. The lack of JJs can be annoying, but it just means you have to plan out your movements a few steps further ahead than usual in order to not get tripped up. Still a great mech ;) There are a couple Twitch streamers that know to absolutely fear me if they see my LCT in a drop against them, I've heard them call out to their entire team that I needed to be focused and murdered before I wiped them.

    It's never helped. ;)

    Edit: I should mention that, after mastering, I run Seismic, Radar Derp, AND Shock Absorption on this little guy. 3 mech modules is OP, along with both SPL modules :D

    The most OP is the third weapon module.
    I personally use AC/20 cooldown for maximum impact.

    I'm torn between NARC and AMS as my 3rd weapon module pick...

    I meant that if you use MLas instead of SPLas on this mech, your effective range is 365 in stead of 149.

    I know :p But in a mech that moves 170, that's a pretty easy number to overcome ;) All a matter of what you're used to though.

    The problem isn't getting shots, its the safety you lose when required to close that much.

    This was with only 5 basic skills unlocked, just bought the thing :)
