Update 04/07/15 New Quirks! Here's some key ones relevant to the build: -5% ER Heat Gen (Total) 5% AMS Rate of Fire 10% AMS Range 7.5% MG Rate of Fire 15% MG Range +9 Armor Right Arm Update 04/21/15 C Omnipods available for C-bills! This is an AMS support Kit Fox build. Plenty of AMS ammo to last most rounds. The 3x cERML's and 4x MG's give good mid to close range damage. Also equipped are two jump jets, triple AMS, and an ECM. It has everything one could ask for in a full support mech. Using AMS Overload and AMS Range 5 modules. If you find that you're running out of either AMS or MG ammo a little more often then you'd like, you can drop some armor to fit another half ton of ammo. Now that the right arm comes with 9 more armor, it can be used to shave off tonnage for your bullets: Not much armor is needed in the head. In most situations 4 is sufficient in keeping that part alive. This mech has treated me well, and I think it'll treat you well too. Enjoy!
and the build is really good as well, probably the best support build thanks to the C omnipods ! I'd just remove 1/2 ton of MG/AMS ammo and max the armor, but that's it
Thank you guys for the feedback I am currently running it with a half ton less MG ammo to get full armor, and see how that goes. While the 4 armor in the head was never an issue, I was getting legged noticeably more with 2 less armor in each. I'll just have to be more sparing now with my pepper cannons. I couldn't bring myself to drop any AMS ammo. Even with 7k rounds, sometimes all of that is gone within the first 5 minutes of a match. I love this little mech
Here's a recent match with this build. The machine guns are exceptional at securing kills on exposed armor. The damage isn't too bad either for a support. (And not bad for my shaky hands, hehe) EDIT: Had a bit of trouble getting the image to show up, but I figured it out. I still have some brain cell working it seems.
The new build with full armor looks amazing, all slots used, good firepower for the size, cool enough, triple AMS, ECM, JJs, decent speed, just a beautiful mech ! I'd be really curious to see 2 or 3 of these stacked togheter
Definitely a build I want to try when the C pods come out for cbills. I love triple overdriven range extended AMS on my KFX and this just makes it better. Should be especially effective in clan vs clan CW due to the mind bogglingly huge amount of LRM spam there *cough* CGB *cough*
C-pods now available for C-bills. EDIT: Also updated the OP to have a bit more info numbers wise to quirks and such.
Swapped out ams etc for 3 medium pulse./ECM and the 4MG's, its my clean up CW drop mech. if we're getting spawncamped® then I can at least get some hits before getting blown up, and if need be, its an excellent clean up mech. ecm, fast-UAV and Arty or Airstrike, advanced sensor, mpl range. Brings home the bacon Changed my entire drop deck based off this mech- now run WHK/HBR/SRC/kit Might start taking the Dire or timber and see how that works out.
You have a Final Kitsune! Check out the post here done by enileph: https://www.mechspecs.com/threads/kfx-c-final-kitsune-3x-cmplas-4x-cmg-ecm-2x-jj.8350/
5/5, Absolutely love it. ECM for the group, massive missile protection shield, good laser punch and lots of crit seeking. Very strong group player.
Even though Big Rico killed me with a team shot to the back yesterday with an AC20 the important thing is I was running his build. I reckon I just had to pay the Rico Tax. This is an excellent build. I think this is the build people should point players new to MWO to at least look at in Smurpy because it will show them the correct way to build a mech. More than that I think this is one new players should run. It's very forgiving in play, sure it's a light and can't take much of a beating but it has all the things it needs to survive besides assault level armor. Since its focus is more on surviving and helping others to survive it would give new players a chance to actually get the big view in a match while still playing. I went with 2 tons of MG ammo and the rest AMS ammo on my version not that it is better but that I just like MG's. If you can survive till the last third of a match with the 4MG's this thing becomes mucho dangerous. So far I've not had any huge games but matches with 2-3 kills and 500-600 damage aren't uncommon. The only real problem with this mech is Pugland. Since this is an escort mech it relies on the mechs it's escorting to at least pull their weight, if your heavies and assaults are bad you're just a puddle of slag with maybe 80-100 damage to your credit and no word of thanks from the fatties you rode shotgun on. 5 star build Big Rico and I would run on your team happily anytime, I just won't be charging that red ct Hellbringer to MG them down.
LOL I felt so bad! I had to get a new keyboard not too long ago and occasionally in the heat of battle i'll go to press R to target and my fat chode fingers also hit E, which is usually my ballistics hotkey. I am glad there's no hard feelings and I appreciate the review
im not sure about this actually, im gonna have to try it. The reason im not sure is that i can do everything this does but better with a shadowcat, minus the 3 AMS If you are playing with experience people, chances are they know how to handle LRMs, and without that i think the build falls a part
