That why muromets is special.
Powerful Alpha but i rather stick to my Widowmaker Build..
If Ilya could fly this build would be beast as hell.
Funny, I was trying to cobble together a triple-ten build just now, but I couldn't part with 3 MLAS and ended up with no viable build.
It looks ok, but you're lacking the ability to melt armor away on your own. Still, I might try it when PGI nerfs UACs. I sure wish they would realize that they are burying their own game in that fashion.
In 2.5s you make 60 dammage at 450 m. Not to bad
Idk how to make the sweet layout, 38 firepower more armor, and with speed tweak it runs pretty quickly.
To hot build.
I went with near max armor, an XL280 and a mere 4 tons of ammo.
That ammo may last you half a match, and gives you a hard cap of 600 damage. I go with 90 rounds (6 tons) of ammo on my dual LBX10/AC10 builds, and those all have backup weaponry, so 135 rounds of ammo would be a bare minimum for me.
Why its not important to have a lot of armor in arms ?
Because if you lost an arm you keep 2 AC 10 and it is good to continue the fight.
If you have no ammo your mecha is dead men.
With 3 AC 10 you need 90 ammo minimum.
Is AC10 worth it? I always think AC5 have better overall performance. (too bad you can't triple AC20)
I've learned to love the AC10 quite a lot. It works very well as a double gun setup, but 3 at once for minimal heat is great.
The Hard damage is a good point and I have run out of ammo several matches with this build, but by then the battle is mostly decided and its time to cap some points to avoid a Capture loss. I focus on called shots with this and it is an experiment in limited ammo that has worked well for me.
One of my game with this build.
I give it 4/5. I would have given it 5 stars but the lower leg armor+ammo is pretty large weakness.
i run a 3x lbx10 build with an xl280, 400 points of armor, 6tons of ammo, and two small laser just incase. it's a riot! ripple fire 60 damage into someone face in less than 3 secs and watchem drop... i had a round last night, where did over 700 dmg, w/ 5 kills, 9 assists. this could become one of my favorite builds, though it obviously excels at a map like crimson straights or river city that has lots of cover, versus a long range map like alpine or tourmaline... if this thing had jumpjets it would be insane.
Five kills and nine assists? Impressive. Must've gotten those extra UAV kill assists!
I do love my Triple LBX clean-up crew. I haven't had as much luck with the Triple AC/10. Hit registry seems REALLY borked on the AC/10 right now. That, combined with the slow projectile speed make this a difficult build for me to really rack up the damage with. The potential is certainly there, does anyone have more shots showing how this baby preforms?
I've been trying various things with my Ilya trying to get a build that works for my play style. I'm sad to admit that the 3x uac5 so far has been the "best" performing load out i have tried, i have had several rounds where i have done over 1000dmg with it...but it's just not as much fun as this. I also ran 2 ac10 2LL for awhile...
oh well just gotta keep at it.
This is too funny... I have used this build to great affect prior to seeing this post.
One match I got behind the enemy team alone (they rolled my team) and I killed... in order, and one at a time...
1) Atlas (stripped both LBX from his torso and outgunned him at that point)
2) Stalker Trial LRMBOAT (Back of the side torso on XL stalker vs 3xAC/10 = WTF JUST HAPPENED TO ME??)
3) ANOTHER. ATLAS. lost an AC/10 arm during the battle with the second atlas.
4) Shot a cicada in the face with the remaining two AC/10
THEN... their team found and destroyed me so fast it hurt... but 4 'solo' kills against fresh mechs!
The 105 AC/10 rounds with 3xAC/10 is pretty much brutal.
It is more of a ... Do as much damage as you can before you die.
After several more matches I settled on this. The 90 rounds with two AC/10 can still run dry if you play it well, and the backup ML's + armor is nice... Plus the speed... but it isn't the same...
Nothing is really better than the three AC/10 sound affects.
BAM BAM BAM ... TING BAM .. TING BAM .. TING BAM .. TING BAM .. TING BAM .. TING BAM .. TING BAM .. TING BAM .. TING BAM .. TING BAM .. TING BAM ... (if you have played this, you know what I mean)
Also, missing the AC/30 affect of the alpha. If any internals are hit they are destroyed instantly.
I am going to have to play this again. You may not agree but I played this with each AC on a mouse button and armlock on. smash the mouse for AC/30, or click pause click pause click repeat for steam-fire.
Gave 5 stars, not because it is the perfect build... but because it was so much fun.
Trying to work with the new quirks.
You have only 40 shots though. Make it useful before you die.
