Y'all know I used to love Clan-SPLs. But ever since PGI worked their magic and nerfed my favorite weapons into the ground, I've had to redesign the builds on alot of my 'Mechs to maintain their efficiency. At a mere 4 damage instead of 6, Clan-SPLs just aren't the same. So I've switched to either ER-Smalls or MPLs on alot of my brawlers, including on almost all of my Huntsman builds. I've been trying out alot of different brawley builds on my Huntsman lately, and have settled on this. The Damage-to-Heat ratio of the weapons is good, and the range is quite decent. I find the CAP sufficient to ward off ECM for the Streaks, and where it's not enough, the 6 SPLs provide sufficient "backup" damage. Also, the Alpha on this thing is a beautiful 78 damage (albeit non-pinpoint), which is very satisfactory. While the DHS count is less than ideal, it's enough to basically keep the Streaks running indefinitely, so if it ever gets hot simply don't fire the SPLs (or have a chain-fire weapon group, which often helps to finish kills, with minimum heat). Of course, it's worth noting that firing four Streak-6s at once will trigger a 2.22-heat penalty. Whether that's enough to warrant using 2 weapon-groups, or chain-firing them, is up to the pilot. As a final note, for those with a PAKHET, (specifically it's Right Torso), the build can be shifted so the weapons are distributed evenly between the two sides. This way, losing either Torso leaves you with exactly half of the firepower. Of course, this also means the convergence is worse for the ERSLs, so it really comes down to preference/priorities. Oh, by the way, you can drop a ton of ammo for a TC-1 if that's your thing. Or, remove one of the Arm-actuators and you can make it an extra DHS.
Because of the last patch you can switch a ton of ammo for an extra heatsink. you got skilled around 720 missles and a better heat eff. incl. one active probe
