    EDIT:
I have stop play MWO for long time and after come back to play I find this builds outdated.
    Mostly for two reasons:
First is the lower range for both PPC and AC5.
This builds was design for mid to long range shooting something that can't do anymore.
    Second is new Clam Mechs.
    You just can't outshooting them.

So i will try to find something more useful for my Heavy Metal
    --------

Simple but really deadly build ... if you have good aim.
After trying all sorts of builds with my Heavy Metal in my opinion this is most deadliest of them all.
I will say it again if you have good aim. Also you have to know when is better to chain fire your PPC and when is better to dual shoot with them.

Keep in mind that i play it with all Elite pilot skills unlocked for this Mech with this have double bonus on the Basic pilot skills.

    Edit:
    -------
My last variant of this killing machine is:

Trade one DHS and legs armor for 1 MLaser and AMS.
MLaser is only if your enemy is less that 90 meters from you. A good player when see that you have dual PPC will try to do that. Or for finishing alpha strike.
    -------

    The old ones:

    One more variant:

I tried the second build with an extra tonne of ammo for security's sake.

This thing is a monster. Fantastic build.

733C is more optimal for this as it can equip UACs and PPC is located higher in the torso, letting your entire left side to be used for shielding purposes.

First I prefer my PPCs in the arm because that way you have more turn/twist with them that is very important for the aim. And I think is better to have weapons on both sides of your Mech that way you can always shot with at least one weapon group.
Second I prefer AC5 vs UAC5. I really don't like the unreliability of the UAC5.
Third the Heavy Metal give you 30% more C-bills (with this build i got 150-200 K per match)
Forth and most important play rock music on every kill. ;)

Only with this build i make 1000+ dmg sometimes. And couple of time achieve 6 kills in one game.

I like your build if you don't want to spend 6750 MC for Heavy Metal.

But will suggest to try this build:

With AC5 instead UAC5 and 2 more DHS you will make more dps for sure.

My 3D runs the dual ac5 + dual PPC, but prefer the UACs on the 733C to rip softies apart if they try to act funny by swarming me, while using single rounds for the popshots.

I got HM, just didn't wanna do a replica setup on it, so went with this one instead:

One mean killing machine as well :).

How could I miss your update and latest version? ;)

I was thinking the same, but I went a different route. And it uses *gasp* Ferro instead of Endo...

Endo is strictly better than Ferro. Since it comes with neither it's suboptimal to take Ferro, as you don't save a significant amount of money, and lose build versatility if you want to swap to any of the (far more common) builds that use Endo.

I know the general comparison of Endo vs. Ferro. But look at that build. There are ZERO free slots. Endo would mean I'd have free tonnage I couldn't spend despite some additional armor. But who goes for a HM's legs anyway? If we're talking about optimizing single builds, the general rule of thumb isn't always the best way to go.

Things that i don't like in your build:
XL engine can cause premature death :)
Lower DHS. Key element for the success of this build is his Cooling Efficiency.

And one tip: You can use JJ to take hits on your legs instead of your torso.

Yeah, I used to build all my HMs with that XL330. A STD285 is possible as well:

The cooling is at 46% as long as you're only using AC5s and PPCs. Remember I only put in the streaks for those situations where I can't use the PPCs. It should be rather seldom that your firing all your weapons at once.

I can fit sixteen heat sinks on there with 2 more JJ's and one more ton of ammo. Try again :) I'll post a build later when I'm home.

I also run my Heavy metal with this build, trading AMS for a TAG for my LRM buddies and one more ton of AC ammo

    Hi Vortyrion,
I took a break from game and came back and all of my builds were crap lol. I love my Heavy Metal and this build makes me very happy. It works great with Advanced zoom. It also takes a pretty good beating.

    Keep it up and Thanks
