So I'm thinking of making this build with my newly bought FS9-S. I already have the FS9-H skilled up, but I not infrequently felt like a little AMS would be helpful so I thought why not try utilizing the dual AMS this can do. Good idea? Bad idea? Not sure yet.
As a light you will be often the last mech and so you can use dual AMS potential. Due to this aspect, I'd do a minor tweak, dropping 1JJ and adding 1/2 AMS ammo. Anyway, the build looks solid. The weapon placement is also nice for peeking over a corner or a building.
This is what I've been testing, and it works great! the max engine really helps me out, being able to go 150KPH in a light is always great!
I've been running a mix of fx8230 and Vergere, with max engine, a shield arm, and 1x AMS. So far I'm liking it. I mainly run it this way because I already had the xl 295. When I get around to having some spare C-Bills for xl 280 looking forward to trying these other builds on here. I also want to try an xl 270 with 5mpls, 3 DHS and shield arm later on.
Decided to pick this variant up as it was the only one I didn't own. Liked what Vergere had here and built it. It's a beautiful little machine. No elites at all and I usually score 1 or 4-5 kills (plus assists to match) per game. It is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Only thing I don't like about it is the range. I find myself firing when I can't hit the mech; too used to Larges I guess. Might be worth the range mod. Just don't forget your light creed and you'll be fine: Spoiler Armor is a lie, there is only speed. Through speed I gain ground. Through the ground I cover, I gain a flanking position. Through my flank, I sow confusion. Through the confusion, my team gains advantages. Through the team's advantage, I gain victory. The speed shall set me free.
You probably should use 4x MPLas (arms) + 2x SLas (torsos) when doing the double AMS thingy. That way you retain a lot of firepower while also bringing enough ammo for the dual AMS.
