I've never clicked with the Gauss in any of my Dragons, and can't look back from the speed of anything >300xl...enter the AC/10. The combination of range, recycle and velocity just clicks with me, and leaves tonnage for good balance between speed and other weapon systems. Heat is mostly a non-issue. Enjoy!
Fast Dragon's are definately the way to go for Heavy 'Mechs. With the exception of the CPLT-K2, I don't like any other Heavy Chassy. Mythweaver. Post Script: I would run almost exactly the same build with mine, if I was filling the direct fire support role. (If my C1 was in the shop at any rate.)
When I picked up a Fang when it was on sale I decided to move my Gauss platform to him and convert my Flame to this build. I cut out a ton of armor to put in an extra ton of AC/10 ammo compared to the OP. Very good overall performer if you don't need a long range punch. Unfortunately I have a little bit of a trigger finger so 45 shells isn't enough half the time.... but that's my problem.
