I've been having a hard time finding a reason to use the Fang over the Flame, or 5N (or any other Dragon tbh), but I've found this setup to be the most reliable performing for me.

The dps is pretty good, and the heat is good. I run max cooldown & 3/4 of the laser duration points.
It's a capable support mech, as long as nobody decides to shoot at you first :)

I'm not a fan of mixed ballistics, especially AC10 (450 meters optimal range and 1100 m/s speed) and AC2 (720 meters optimal range, 1800 m/s speed), because mixed ranges and projectiles speed means you will never be able to either focus damage on a single component or being at optimal range of both weapons. For instance, AC2 has good DPS, but due to fast RoF it prevents you from torso twisting, which means it's not intended as a brawl weapon, while AC10 due to longer cooldown actually allows you to torso twist a bit during cooldowns. Even more, due to little to no Alpha Strike (2 damage per bullet) any vomit laser build or high-alpha build will win almost any trade below their optimal range (~500 meters is the most common optimal range for HLL / ERML / LL builds). The only exceptions are AC10 and AC5, because they feature quite similar speed and range and performing very similarly at their intended range (500 meters).

To make the most out of the quirks (including laser duration), I would use something like the following: AC10 + 2xLL +1xERML, mixing the DPS of that AC10 with the Alpha strike of those lasers, so you can either side poke with one weapon group or being able to do both decently...

If you don't mind using an XL engine, you could fit a 3rd LL

AC10 + 3xLPPC combo looks very nasty (actual AC10 speed is 1210 m/s due to quirks, while LPPC have no speed quirks and are stuck at 1200 m/s which is almost identical). Also, 50% cooling efficiency means it's quite cool despite all the cooldown quirks, so I would actually try this one despite the bad hardpoints.

AC10 + 2xPPC is even nastier, but slower and harder to use if you don't torso twist and spread damage properly

I tried similar setups, but they really don't work to well under sustained fire.
They're just too hot. I'm not trying to brawl in this thing, it's just supporting fire from 400ish metres
