MechDB link Despite the recent DHS rework, this build still works: maximum ghost-heat-less alpha strike (excluding HLL, which is no more possible) and TC1 for the slight range bonus. Alpha strike and hide to cool off. Stick with your team, always aim CT and you are good to go. Obvious skills: max heat gen, max range, max laser duration, max cool run, skill into armor and radar depravation, skill into cool shots. Name chosen due laser positions, which vaguely resemble Star War's death star when charging up the shot. Spoiler: 1100+ damage quickplay
I've seen people run this and it isn't bad, but the heat is just a little too much for me. I love my Ebbon Jag and tried 2 and 6, 2 and 5, but ended up with 2xLPL + 4xERML. The lower heat and extra cooling gives you the ability to poke at a much higher tempo. Lower alpha strike, but ability to strike much more often. With the 2 and 6 setup, you really need to be PERFECT with your burns and have reliable teammates to cover during your cooling. If you have one burn that is imperfect (say only 50% of the burn lands), you just committed a lot of heat and time cooling down to only about 25-30 damage delivered to the enemy. If I deliver a crappy burn with my 2 and 4 setup, it is not terrible, I can re-fire again in a few seconds. However, the availability of the higher alpha with the 2 and 6 setup means you can make winning trades more often; multiple exposures with a lower alpha gives the enemy more opportunity for counter fire on you. In conclusion: 2xLPL, 6xERML is definitely beast mode build for advanced, skilled laser vomitters.
Replace the TC1 with an additional heat sink, and bring more armor at the same speed. Can do this build on TBR-A, -C, -D, or on any of them if you've got the Warrant RT.
The main issues with timberwolves are greater weight (+10 ton is a lot if we consider you gain only +1 DHS and lose a TC in the process) and very worse hardpoints: it is true that ebon jaguar is very wide, but it can hill-poke with every weapon without exposing too much. A timberwolf can't poke either side poke or hill poke properly, plus it has similar or worse acceleration / deceleration.
5/5, For advanced, skilled laser players. I prefer 2xLPL, 5xERML: _ Fire groups: 1. (left click) 2xLPL's 2. (right click) all 5xERML's 3. arm mounted ERML's 4. chainfire all lasers (barely ever use, strictly only for overheating situations where there is a red component you need to destroy) and suggested alternate skills: https://kitlaan.gitlab.io/mwoskill/...062101cff7f0000e86f770f000080a22119#s=Weapons
Take out one or two medium lasers and replace with heat sinks. The ER mediums now have a damage ratio of 1.03 damage per heat. It is bad. _
