Ferro-Fibrous is a common misconception. It does not give you better armor. The only thing it does is take 14 critical slots and give you some extra weight to spend on weapons.

Endo-steel also takes 14 slots but gives you a lot more weight to spend, alway take Endo first as it is at least gives you two times more weight savings.

Try switching to Endo and you will see on Smurfy how much extra tonnage you get to spend. Like this.

180 shots is not much on a quad AC5 build. 45 clicks of the mouse.

No, the XL255 has ten internal heatsinks. Then you do not need the two DHS you had with the XL210 - that gives you those six slots.

Actually, u can go with 3x AC5 and get a 100% on cooldown chainfire. Its less ammo hungry that constants alphas. With the XL255 i would build it like this, with BAP, AMS, and an upgrade to the MLas to get a more interesting ERLLas, so u can be usefull even when u run out of ammo :p:

[member=5275]Przemcio251[/member] I would build it around the XL210 like this, downgrading the Endo Steel Structure to Standard:

Or with 2x MLas instead of ERLLas:

[member=5275]Przemcio251[/member] By default, when u are in battle u can use the arrows to move along the weapons in a little display down right ur screen. Here u have sorted ur weapons in lines and ur weapon groups in columns. Move to the group u want to chainfire and press X :)

[size=14pt]PS: Wait, im not sure that X is default. I have it in X. Check in Config--->Settings--->Keyboard which key do u have it binded to.

Another great variation is DarkLobster's Master Shake build with 3xAC5 and 1xAC2, which saves some tonnage and critslots which can be used for more ammo (or backup weapons if you worry about that kinda thing). Before they nerfed the cooldowns, it was basically firing an AC7 every 0.5 seconds.

I normally set up Weapon Group 1 to have all AC5's on linked fire, then Weapon Group 2 would be all of them on chain fire. You can select or deselect which weapons are in each group by moving around with your arrow keys, and pressing left-CRTL. Auriga had mentioned you can change the firing patter from linked to chain fire for each weapon group by pressing X, but by default, I believe it is Backspace.

You can also do this in the Mechlab before dropping into a match. I would also recommend droppping in a Training Ground first and testing it out to make sure your weapon groups are setup the way you like them.

Oh man... So bad. I am NOT used to moving so damn slow so out of five rounds tonight, I had ONE damage score over 500. ITS SO SLOW! Lesigh.

Still a great build, I just have to get used to IS Assault speed.

Kind of a necro, but I see that not a single 4X build has a rating, this build is pretty nice with the current quirks, esp. if you complete the elite tier skills and add a level 5 AC/5 cooldown module. Personally I find I don't even need the lasers, opting for more AC/5 ammo, chain fire is pretty wicked for continuous slap of the enemy, alpha for drilling.

    5/5,
Since I picked up the CTF-0XP, I brought this bad boy out of retirement for the first time in over a year to give it a shot. My first round out was a loss, but I'll post the screenshot...since it was with only all basics, and no elites. This build is great with quirks, and still tears through enemies like they're made of paper. DEADLY build in the right hands. Screenshot inc next post ;)

Honestly, if Mister D hadn't specifically hunted me down early (and yes, I died EARLY after doing that), I would have done much more.

    5/5,
With quirks, skills, and module, this mech is a beast.

    5/5,
I dropped the AMS and went with BAP and I pulled a 1000 damage round with this baby. With 180 rounds, I ran out of ammo and then poked around with the dual ML.

I'm going to try out another build without BAP and more ammo, I would like to be able to go 1000+ damage allowing for a few missed shots.

If you get the height advantage, even an assault starts running when you are smacking 20 damage every couple of seconds. I certainly recommend group firing rather than chain firing. And don't use the MLs unless you are going for the death blow.

    Great build.
