There are times where being Tier 3 means I think I won't see anything cringeworthy. And then there are times where you see Atlases with nothing but four LRM 15s and a TAG... that don't even turn around when you're behind them in a 6xMPL Gargoyle tearing them apart.
The speed difference means that what 2-3 secs of ground to close? At most 1 volley IF he can lock you in time. That's even presuming you were in his front arc. WHICH YOU WEREN'T....
What can I say two very special builds today... contenders for the worst 100 ton builds ever... and in back to back matches. Even better were their tactics and both survived to the last man: the Atlas hung about 750m behind us and achieved very little; the King Crab was active but stayed 1.5-1.8km BEHIND us. We actually ended up all trying to dissect the KCB build in team chat.
I think the 2 machine guns must be a mistake, I've got the same build EXCEPT it has 2x gauss instead. It's the hardest Crab to pilot IMHO.
Well, with 6x cLRM10 and cAP you still have around 12 tons to ammo/DHS (arms stripped) It is actually functional if you have a team, though you will have to setup your weapon groups or macros to maximize it.
Hehe, true. I cringed a lot when the majority voted for Mordor. Grrr But on Heat neutral or cold Maps, it's very manageable - assist Sniper at Range, full Wub Brawler in CQC. (built this based on the quirkies, psssh). Try it out.
Here i have seen a Mixed Build, which i would not recommend (Missile Hardpoints limited to 2x6 Volley):
