HPPCs on a mech with PPC quirks, yay! LMGs to finish off the open components from 30 dmg pin point alpha strikes, extra yay!
Thanks for the review! If you drop 3 external DHS, you can use Light Ferro along side it, and increase the engine rating a bit
Going over old 'Mechs and redesigning them with Clan Tech is proving to be quite enjoyable. Just as a note to follow the build by @SoLong - you can do the same thing in a C1-variant, and include JJs, and potentially more DHS. Admittedly you lose the use of the high-mounted arms, but I think the JJs and more centered convergence might be enough to make up for that. Refer to this thread.
New to MWO and I want to set up a Catapult-K2 with some Heavy PPCs. Wondering whats up with the few single heat sinks in the centre torso, despite having DHS selected in the mechlab. Says 0/1 or 0/2 heat sinks but cant figure out where those come from. Any help greatly appreciated!
@syserr You are talking about 'engine slots'. Engines from rating 100-250 have 4-10 internal heatsinks, increasing at each increment of 25. With the double heat sinks upgrade, these become internal double heatsinks, cooling at twice the rate and have twice the capacity. Beyond 250, engines no longer get innate heatsinks, but will get 'Engine Slots' for every 25 rating above 250 (so 1 at 275+, 2 at 300+). These can be filled with External (Double) Heatsinks (the ones you put on your mech) without using the space they usually do, thought you still pay for the tonnage! External Double Heatsinks cool and have a capacity of 1.5 times that of single heat sinks. Even if it looks like only Single Heat Sinks fit, any type of heatsink can use an engine slot.
5/5, HNNGH, this is awesomely fun as well. Too many mechs too little money(C-Bills).. Much lesser time..
Budget version using standard heat sinks.... Although the Ferro costs 350k. So maybe you want to skip that if going for the DHS build. In any case... currently on sale!
