Commando Post-Quirkening discussion

    Hello!

    I want to get this discussion going. Commandos are considered "low-tier" and I want to talk about possible options of how to "improve" them, if they are really "still bad", and keep this poll up-to-date.

    I think commandos have amazing hit boxes and appropriate firepower now after the 2nd quirk pass.

    They are superb ankle biters and just sooo much fun!

    They just get better hitboxes/armor, but fewer weapons, than a locust. A big factor is that even with some of those good srm quirks, you just can't take enough ammo (or you give up too much speed). The energy variants are done better with the other lights even with the quirks.

    Better mech? Sure.
    Good mech? Still nope.

    I'll put them in my playing rotation sometimes, though, just because they can be fun, they're unique to see, and I like the whirring sound effect they make.

    see I'm not sure about this. 25 alpha with 300 missiles for one single srm6 launcher & 2 MPLas is enough for 600-1000dmg (also, 143kp/h) and I average about 400ish per game. In fact my damage average with the commando is higher than my FS9 or huginn / oxide stats and I can't really understand why. There must be some factor other than hardpoints. Yeah i get 800 or 900 dmg spikes in 35t lights but this is pretty random and depends on the circumstances...

    Tanking: Turning to the side while running away will expose arms to enemy, commando is suddenly very hard to hit. That's actual tanking, not wonky hit box buggery like spiders.

    Damage: You accelerate so fast that you can dump that mplas / srm salvo right where it belongs, and retreat in a heartbeat just to repeat that maneuver after 3 seconds.

    I was completely disappointed before the 9th of dec. quirk pass but that one definitely made the COM attractive again
