Please rate this Mech NEW! Ver 2.0 w/XLE This version I prefer to the old one. As much as I try to vary my play style I have the most success with big engines and high firepower. Recommended Modules: -Target Info gathering, as for any brawler precision is often what wins you a fight. Knowing where to hit before they do is extremely valuable. -360 target retention, Especially useful because you are often swinging up your left side to block and this can cost you your lock (target decay works decently as well). Other good modules: -Seismic sensor is good if you are solo but if you are in voice chat with an assault or missile boat that is more likely to be standing still it is not necessary. -Consumables, are each situational, but useful. Pros: -Decent heat (you can shave the legs and left arm for an extra HS if you don't have the perks yet) -Brutal alpha strike -Speed for hit and run tactics -Full armor on shield arm for blocking -Varied weapon ranges for all types of engagements -High skill cap means that with practice you can regularly dominate matches. Cons: -XLE hinders your staying power, however losing a side torso would massively cripple your damage anyway. -No AMS -Weak at Extreme range -Requires you to have excellent mech control to brawl at high speed and use your shield to block, This means there is is high skill cap and it is difficult to play if you don't have all of the perks unlocked. Tactics: Video coming soon! I play back with the Fire support Mechs and add my AC/5 shots to their long range damage while being careful to stick to cover and turn my left shield side to the enemy if I am taking fire. When the enemy gets close its my time to strike, ideally ducking through cover to get a side shot but don't stick around if they turn too you. If you do it correctly you almost always at least take off an arm. After that just brawl as normal.
Looks like a good brawler, the added range of the AC/5 will help with it's efficiency but I think the lack of speed could be a serious problem. I believe that speed is one of the things that make the Centurion what it is...but that's just me. Good Hunting. Mythweaver.
I used to run an XL with this mech, and it's very survivable even with the dangerous engine. 5-5 stars.
I gonna test that build tonite and will provide Screenshots (if a am any successful ) Thanks for sharing!
Okay, so far I have to admit, that I had more success with the oldschool Zombie build (i.e. no AC5, 4 tons SRM ammo, std engine). I have the impression that this build lacks some SRM ammo as 200 missiles means about 11 volleys. Anyone else here got some expierience with that build? How do you play it?
This build is good. After getting my free Centerion I didnt like using it because I kept dying. But this build made me realize that I didn't have full armor on my CT like an idiot and this build has me going on matchs for 440 Dmg and I never get that much. Also this is my first post.
Just got the CN9-A(C) for free, not my first time using cents but have not had one in a while, the build it came with just was not my speed so I decided to give yours a try and gotta say I like it. Having played with a lot of XL engines and love to brawl it's working pretty well, as for the guy talking on the srm ammo I personally find it to be my face to face/hey back the hell up weapon in this instance so it's not a huge deal; if it was a primary then ya it's kinda shy on ammo. Overall I give it a very happy 4.5 out of 5, mostly because there is always something better
