I dug this old mech out for the first time in a long time; and instead of keeping the old incredibly outdated SRM build I used to use on it, I figured I'd try to give the Awesome a new lease on life by swapping out the Artemis SRM 4s for MRM 10s. It worked. Intended for mid-range fire; though it's reasonably capable of brawling if forced. BAP helps keep enemy ECM away, the single AMS is more of a relic from the older days and the current challenge of using AMS; it'd probably appreciate having either an ER Med or TAG in the head if you don't need the cover.
I recommend swapping the MRMs to a single MRM30. It's 9.5 heat vs 12 for 3xMRM10. Even dropping a DHS for the 10th ton leaves you more efficient.
Lorgot version is even better than the one I come up with, even if mine has better range and is actually more suited for medium ranged combat... Due to MRM behaviour, they are more suitable as brawl / short range rather than medium range... So MRM40 is for general suppression / damage farm, LPL will get you the kills and pinpoint damage where needed. Anyway, this is the "closest" build to the original I could come up: removed BAP, added +1 DHS, swapped things around, replace 2xMRM10 for a more efficient MRM20, stripped armor from now useless left arm
