I notice that my favourite Anni is conspicuous by it's absence, so I present unto thee the peak of my love affair with the LB5. Yeah it's as slow as the molasses in December but you have an LB30 with a 1 click range so who gives a hoot how elephantine it's carcass is! Two things: 1) Ammo is tight; make sure you grab the ammo xp nodes and don't be too explorative with your shots, and 2) Make sure you make a torso weapons group of 4 of your guns so you don't waste ammo shooting your arm cannons when cresting hills. I actually run a 250 engine one these days with 1.5 tons more ammo so I can blast away in a more speculative fashion but I think this is probably the *correct* fit in the right hands, if you see what I mean. Enjoy - this is by *far* my most successful 100 tonner both in terms of damage and wins.
There's my current configuration with a ton and a half more ammo. Is it worth it for 5kph? Well, I was running out of bullets before and now I don't. Mostly.
Doooooooooooommmmmm! How does this do over LBX40 on the 1X? Lb5 fires faster and has long range but latter shouldn't matter too much with an LBX ;p
RoF, range and tightness of shot means you can adapt to any map the QP queue chucks you on - you're fine anywhere (as long as your group gives you the Anni support you deserve). Tbh, they're probably fairly comparable and it comes down to taste. The 4xLB10 machine doubtless goes faster and is probably a touch more effective at close range. I reckon this things strength is a lot of folks don't really understand what's happening to them as you carve them up. The amount of mechs that do some kind of deer-in-the-headlights stagger when you open up on them across the valley on Frozen City is very surprising. It's also a monster on the hot maps, as you'd expect - that level of sustained dps at that range on Terra Therma is hard to match.
Ammo is a thing, for sure. But, on the other hand, theres 2k potential damage on my uberslow version (which is what I use nowadays). That means even if you only connected with half your bullets you would still have score worth bragging about.
A bit hotter, but way faster. It's low on ammo, but it will be a full minute of glorious dakka _ EDIT: also, perfect pinpoint is best pinpoint. The 6th LBX5 is to avoid ghost heat.
