Pretty basic, adjust armor values as you see fit, though I think I'm comfortable with them as they are. If the ammo seems a bit high, you can always drop a ton or 2 for more speed and/or DHS, or armor obviously. For the moment I don't have any magazine skills on this thing, so I'm ok with the current values; but once I get some magazine skills, I'd probably swap out for an extra DHS or something.
5/5, Definitely one of the stongest Builds out there for the 2A. Ammo looks plenty, another DHS (or 2) are very recommended.
How is the heat management, considering the -10% ballistic heat generation quirk? I was considering to drop some armor and ammo in favor of slightly better speed and +1 DHS. It should have 1600 potential damage (with maxed skills), quite plenty if we consider it for QP
@CarloArmato The heat efficiency is actually quite good. Had a couple matches on Terra Therma, and it ran quite nicely, especially with jam-times involved. You can't fire non-stop obviously, but the chance of overheating isn't very high. I do like the idea of dropping a bit of ammo for a DHS, though I don't know that I'd bother increasing the engine. An extra 1 kph doesn't make that much difference in my mind (since engine desync anyway), so I'd rather have the damage potential with the extra ton of ammo.
I've occasionally found with this build that the UAC10 firing pattern throws me off. I think I may try this as an alternative, for better precision, and technically better burst.
4/5, Very good build: nice DPS, good range and overall good heat management, but with one big issue when playing top tiers: the face time. Unluckily the annihilator has a huge head, is slow and if you have to face your opponent to keep on firing your cannons, you are making your head an easy target. When facing another assault with pinpoint weapons, on average I have been head shotted once every two (with maxed or nearly maxed head armor). This is the ONLY reason I'm rating it 4 stars out of 5: on top tiers, you will be headshotted if too close or not paying attention to possible threats...
That's crazy. I have never been headshotted in an Annihilator (in probably 50 matches or so) and you're getting it every other match?
Yup. I'va played that build one evening: First match i was left behind and died. Second match I was in public group, I faced another annihilator and I got dual heavy gauss headshotted. I wasn't even mad because I actually did the very same thing two days earlier (I did it even with a deathstrike): quite hard and lucky shot, but possible and reliable if the cockpit is teady enough and the pilot doesn't torso twist. Third match ended the same: headshot by dual heavy gauss. Forth match was in solo queue: luckily nobody cared about my cockpit and I've managed to deal some damage and prove the build is worth it, even if it's really risky when facing skilled players. It could have been a very unlucky streak facing very skillfull players, but even yesterday while I was playing the 4xAC10 build another dual gauss annihilator tried to headshot me (I saw sparkles below my cockpit right after being shot), but luckily I was always torso twisting after firing the 2nd firing group.
After some time and recommendation from a friend of mine I've picked up again this build, but replaced UAC5 with standard AC5 for sustained DPS, keep the build overall cooler, avoid jams and 2 free tons and slots, which means I was finally able to fit almost anything in torsoes and fit a bigger STD300. Not my favourite build, but it seems quite nice.
