Worry no more: this mech is the long arm of the LAZORS-GAUSS meta and, if it was not for the damn low hardpoints, it could actually be a decent sniper. Anyway: extreme ERLL range once fully skilled (990 meters optimal range!), free-heat Gauss damage at mid-long ranges, dual AMS protection to further damp incoming damage. Actually it's probably best used in those med-long range maps where you mainly side poke, like grim plexus. Always stay the furthest away as possible, but NEVER be shy with this mech, otherwise you ain't gonna do anything and, according to VOIP, become a worthless long range assault scrub in no time. Build has been made considering a total -20% gauss cooldown, -10% energy cooldown, crazy armor quirks and +15% energy range, so you can actually stay in the open, fire like a madman and tank like your liver during saturday night, because this is the atlas your team needs, but not the Atlas this game deserves. ALT: AMS-less version in case you trust your positioning skills. ALT: previous TC4 iteration with better speed and cooling, pre-DHS buff patch
TBH that was exactly my very first build (only ammo location was different) because I wanted to squeeze that juicy -20% missile cooldown too, but a single non-artemis LRM10 is not likely going to deal any meaningful damage for the final kill/killing blow and, when used, it should fire so fast to compete with ERLL for heat dissipation... So in the end I thought: why fit a very inefficient weapon when you want to punish those guys using that very same weapon? Idk, I felt that you could deal extra, if only a little damage, with some indirect damage and forget about it when you run out of ammo or have direct line of fire on them I just don’t like the idea of engines that aren’t optimized for the max amount of heatsinks
With DHS buff it could really be a thing... Did you try it? On paper is damn crazy 675m x 1.15 (laser range quirk) x 1.15 (range skill bonus) x 1.115 (TC8 bonus) = 990 meters optimal range

UPDATE: officially changed thread title and swapped the previous TC4 build with the more MEME TC8 version and changed description a little. And honestly, I'm gonna buy it for this build only.
Yup, I've just tried it out without skills and it is damn hot. I'm trying it with LL instead of ERLL, but it should not be worth it due to lower range...
