  2. Excellent guide.

How many times have you heard someone say that they are using a Targeting Computer to help their missile boat build?

Could you flush out Stealth armor by adding what counters Stealth Armor and what does not?
For example which of the following actually stops Stealth Armor:
Narc, UAV, PPC hit, Tag, Active Probe, ECM in counter, Flamer, etc.

    Too often.

Haven't run much with stealth armor, will have to do some testing. I THINK it's all of the above, except flamers and maybe active probe :)

A couple things you could add:

Clan mechs have CASE in all components by default at no cost
NARC will cancel the target's ECM but it can still be countered by another ECM in range.

Flamers are a decent soft counter to stealth armor, though, because it'll force them to turn it off much more quickly than normal.

Your suggestions have been added! Thanks!

    Still detectable to seismic.
When Stealth Armor is active, you do not get enemy target information.

    Re: Stealth armor

Stealth armor rely on a working ECM in "disrupt" mode. If the ECM get countered by any Active Probe, you can't activate stealth untill it is no more countered. I'm pretty sure (but NOT completely) that if you are already in stealth mode and an enemy mech fitted with any AP get close to you, stealth won't be deactivated.

Also, Tags and NARCs works versus a stealthed target, but I'm pretty sure UAVs don't. This also applies to other "fixed spotters" like turrets and "escort mode radars": they won't spot you and even shoot you as long as stealth mode is activated.

It is possible to get target info, but only below a very short range (270 meters or even less)

Do you think it’s worth talking about L/AMS in the guide?

Considered it, but AMS at least does what it says it does (as in: it's easier to understand that an Anti Missile System is against Missiles, than that a Targeting Computer does not help with targeting.)

Just to comment: ATMs are _not_ pre-equipped with Artemis. If you switch your mech's targeting system to Artemis, you will gain the 50% faster lock time. As far as I can tell it will not affect ATM spread.

As far as I've experienced, as long as ATMs (and other Artemis weapons) are the only weapons equipped on the mech, you get the 50% lock time reduction inherently. That would also make sense with how weapons work in lore. In previous patches, SSRMs used to get a lock time bonus from artemis on accident, that functionality has been removed since. It'd be very weird in the least if PGI made the exact same mistake they patched out after months of complaints with the new ATM weapons.

I tested it last night on my Shadow Cat equipped with an ERPPC, ATM9, and 6 machine guns. My ATM lock speed was increased by 50% when I bought Artemis guidance. This also worked with clan streaks.

As PGI has said before, the Artemis bug cannot be fixed because it is tied to how launchers work, and that they are all a single weapon type.

I'll try some tests as well and update accordingly. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I thought they fixed this bug years ago.
