Meme Deathstrike "Threat To Myself And Others" (2xcUAC20, 2xcHLL, 4xHML, cXL350)

Thread in 'Deathstrike' started by Remover of Obstacles, Feb 24, 2018.

  1. Chainfire the UACs in time with the lasers for a big hit.

Stick to the UACs with 20% jam reduction as you cool down and wait for another alpha opportunity.

In case you have a XL340 engine - less speed and alpha, but more range, more cooling and more ammo.

Replace the UAC20s in your second build (XL340) with LB20s, drop 1 DHS and pick up an extra ton of armor instead (not enough slots running LBs), and I'd run it. ;)
I just have a personal thing against UACs. They're hotter, require more face-tanking; and frankly, I just need to know I can rely on my weapons in a pinch (can't allow all that insubordinate jamming idiocy).

  3. This started out with a guy in the unit saying he wanted to run double UAC20s with 6 medium pulse lasers.

    144 firepower in one salvo.
That's more than the armor on a quirked atlas ct.

Who needs efficiency when you can have death? X)

    So this?

Honestly I much prefer the LBX version, as it doesn't require you to chain fire. If you need to torso twist away, you can. And if you are trying to syncronize your pulse lasers and ballistics, then the 3.9 secs of the med pulse matches up well with the 4 secs of the LBX, but not so well with the 4.5 secs of chainfired UAC/20.

  7. I think the dual LBX20 and 6x MPL is probably the way to go. The double 20s leg/destroy lights better and the MPLs are easier to handle with more damage on target and way less wasted heat.

On the other hand, the very, very long burn times of the heavy lasers make the face time requirement of the UAC20s less of an issue. Still generally not great for what is considered the norm for good meta play. But one of out five games can be really fun.

For 2x UAC10 plus heavy lasers, the Blood Asp (prime?) with the heat quirks should be considered.

I'm partial to 2xLb20's 2xHLL's 4xHML's. 72 damage from lasers will strip most components on most mechs and a 40 point LB strike will tear it off.

If sticking with UAC20's, I would go SPL's for heat sustainability and point blank pinpoint:

    2xLB20X + 6xMPL is just too hot. 2xGR + 6xMPL is possible and a legit build (in addition to 2xGR + 6xERML).

    2xLB10X + 6xMPL might be quite workable.

  10. This build went from 1 star (competing fiercely for worst build for best hero mech) to completely unplayable with the latest heat changes in 2018.

Here is a build that can actually fire with UACs on chain fire without immediately shutting down or exploding.

The range is a bit nicer and more of the laser damage happens faster...

Really, if you want to hit big just go Dual Heavy Gauss with ERMLs. No heat issues and more damage on one component. It is pretty clear what PGI is forcing us to use.

Now if you are a clan loyalist... Go play a different build or maybe a different game. You will be happier after all the recent side torso destruction Bull Sh!t.

And what mech are you running this on? Because it doesn't sound like a Mad Cat Mk II.
