Krev and company had been toying with lasers and gauss for ultimate pinpoint on discord last night and my mind went straight to open them up and finish them off with a big crit cannon.

I have not run this yet, but I will soon.

Here's a cooler variant with more ammo and no penalties. It also has no JJs though.

Finally got to run this. Used the cooler variant. 10/91 skill points spent on it for this so I'm pretty pleased with it. I think with a nice bit of laser skills, a tighter spread on the LBX, and a better pilot, then it will be even nastier.

My kind of build, I've always loved LBXs paired with Lasers. This is something I could definitely run.

Minor rework of your no-JJ variant: moves all the Lasers into the torso for higher mounts and better convergence (at the loss of the arm-actuator of course), drops the extra ton of ammo to keep the third ERML, and drops a ton of armor to pick up an extra DHS (since the arm is a dumby anyway). Can move a HLL to each torso, instead of having both in the same side, if preferred.

And of course, can always put the armor back into that Left-Arm by dropping that extra DHS.

That's an interesting take and I will definitely try that one.
Edit: Rather, I would try that one if I had WAR parts. I'd have to run it with just 2 ERMLs but the ability to not have to armor the arm is nice.

I guess this would be the alternative, instead of using the WAR torso. Not as many DHS o/c, but it still keeps the Energy all in the higher torso mounts.

True, It's just a bit hotter and eats the S penalties though.

It's a question of 67 and hotter w/ JJ or 60 and Colder w/o JJ unless you have WAR parts to use.

Ew, no. That TBR-A Left Torso is the worst one of all:
    TBR-A LEFT TORSO
    REVERSE SPEED: -10.00 % ACCELERATION RATE: -5.00 % DECELERATION RATE: -5.00 % Torso Yaw Speed: -10.00 % Torso Yaw Angle: -5.00

I hate running heavy Ballistics on my arms, mostly because of losing the lower arm actuator.... which pretty much means I can't run this build without that -A left torso, so I may end up giving it a try after all.

Edit: Looks like I'll have to run the almost as bad -S right torso as well, which means this thing will suffer some serious performance penalties. Still going to try it.... :D

Ok, so.... I was building this out, and I noticed it's tonnage restricted, and has plenty of slots.... so I went ahead and tossed 4 HML in there instead of ERML. Since I run a Summoner with 2 HLL and 4 ERML all the time now anyway, I know the pairing of Heavy large and medium lasers is less than optimal from a range convergence stand point.... but the medium lasers are really just there for additional burst damage anyway. Usually when I'm peek/poking, I'm not terribly concerned with the medium lasers anyway. The goal would be to avoid brawling, If I do end up in a brawl I'm going to be cooling while firing my LB-X as often as possible, and then blasting the HLLs when I'm cool enough. The part that will need further testing is to see if this thing can even handle a single alpha without shutting down, since I'm terrible with heat load maths.

Also, I went ahead and stripped a ton of Armor equally from both arms, to add another heat sink, because this thing is going to run very hot already.

Just wanted to add, the actual numbers on this thing when you're in a sustained fight are basically here: Firepower: 46; Max Sustained DPS: 5.27; Cooling Efficiency: 59%(this is obtained by removing the HML, since you won't be firing those at all in a sustained fight.

Taking a look at the build posted above by @Throet I realized that it's possible to make this setup work entirely without JJs.

Still has 20 DHS, has the additional ERML (but I kept them at ERs, not HMLs), and doesn't use the A variant's Left-Torso.

That's the same omnipod setup I'm using for my TBR-C which, you guessed it, is running my currently favoured Gauss+"Pewke" combo. I thought about posting the Gauss version as an alt but I may give it it's own thread in a bit.
