Where can i find the trailmech builds?

    A bit too hot:
    1. Drop CAP and get TC1 instead, your lasers will benefit.
    2. Single SRM6 is not really worth it, better get more DHS or some JJ, you can change ANY bodypart/omnipod of a clan unit to any of the variants/configs (other than CT). Not having the missile on torso also means you don't have that "ear" for enemy to shoot at.
    3. If I remember that LT you use have negative quirks. Unless you use it for snipery actions you don't need that high mount, use other LT.


    If you don't use JJ change another ST and another arm, you get more DHS then. You can also mount LPL on both arm if you like.

    Nice, is there any reason to use jump jets if you don't have weapons that can fire instantly? Also is there somewhere i can check what beneifits targeting computers bring?

    I think i am going with this build, my play style revolves around having other people tank while i take out the weapons of attacking enemies. I don't brawl that much. Also, the right torso on the A variant balances out the negatives on the left torso. Do lasers also group closer when mounted close together?
    What modules are the best?

    JJ is good for mobility like turning also. TC1will increase crit chance, even level 1 does well, it is deminishing return for more so TC1 is usually good enough.

    Been away with work so apologies for not replying - radar deprivation is easily the #1 module, generally followed by Seismic sensor tier 2 (10k+7.5k gxp).

    When you're standing still it will show all moving mechs within 250m - I'm sure I don't need to say how useful that is. ;)

    Cool shot 9 /Cool Boost and UAV/UAV Upgrade I find very useful but I use both of those consumables a lot.

    If you like to LRM then Radar decay is important.

    Arguably Advanced Zoom if you sniper a lot but its double edged as I personally find the loss of my peripheral vision and the opportunity cost of sacrificing Radar Dep/Seismic is too much. If you're running clan mechs with targeting computers I'm really not convinced due to their bonuses.

    The only thing I'd be cautious about is that there is supposed to be a skill revamp incoming so we don't know what will happen then. Whatever happens though I'd argue that Radar Deprivation is really important.

    Cool was my first ever use of that Huntsman so still buzzing over how well it worked. Was just heading here to add the variant to the list. ;)

    What name do you play under?

    Pride2000 I suspect as they sent me a friend invite. ;)

    I did pretty bad that game though, me and 2 other guys were going for Kappa but one ran away as soon as we had contact with an enemy Griffin. Saw a bunch of enemy mechs on the other side of the map far away so i figured we would be able to take on the Griffin without interruption. Killed it but a light, assault and then the rest of their team showed up :(

    Ahh yeah I called out two moving to your location on voice before having to concentrate on the rest of their team. Think you broadcast for help at one point but most of us had no way to get to you as the reds were mostly covering the open area between us. I was hiding from cover and dual er ppcing everything that moved to support the ones fighting you. On the good side they took ridiculous damage getting to where they could kill you and then we could mop them up reasonably easily.

    Oh it was you on voice, i heard someone speaking but their mic was very quiet so i couldn't make anything out that they were staying.

    I noticed that the clan weapons generate more heat than the IS ones, i am gonna tweak my Timber Wolf to run 4xSRM+A and 2xERLL for quick kills. What build were you running on your Huntsman?

    This is what i am going with, just need 3mil. The side torso are kinda big even without weapon mounts so not much of a downside, Thought of going with the JJ version but not a lot of space for ammo then, think i should another ton of ammo though.

    Yes, clan toys are a bit hotter and burns a bit longer, My prefered build is this one currently:

    You can run it on the P type, just swap the laser around a bit (I use 2x MPL and less DHS)
    You will benefint from the quirks, it is not much but no point in not doing it if your build is a srm+laser combo.

    On the TBR I tend to prefer something like this:



    2 LPL, 3 ERML, TC1, 27DHS. Using Radar, LPL cooldown and ERML range modules

    Nice.

    What i want to know is, why was i in a T1 match as a T4 player? (I got into T3 the next day). Are the tiers mixed together?

    When is the Huntsman coming out for CB buyers? I really want to test some of these builds and i only have one mechbay left.

    I'll try it out but i am not very good at dealing sustained damage ( Everyone seems to target me when i am in a group, most people ignore me in the CN9 even when i run up to them while they are firing at my allies)

    I'd not get the Huntsman atm tbh as its very vulnerable to damage to the CT but mechs like the Nova can do the 2 ERPPC build very well.

    The LPL/ERML setup has excellent range and quite close cooldown but like most energy builds it need careful fire control. Your LPL are your primary weapons supplemented where you have plenty of time to drop heat by the ERML. It definitely benefits hugely from the doubling of heat reduction bonuses later on but you can drop two full volleys in rapid succession quite easily as needed unless on terra therma etc. I'd personally play a bit at your own pace on the practice maps just to get used to the amount of fire you can use. Also means you can play around with overheat at your own pace. Other than that I generally stick with the deathball and keep dropping firepower into the other side. That way you can hopefully rotate out of the firing line when taking too much damage - at worst there are plenty of other targets around!

    If you like instant damage weapons then try something like these two - you use the gauss to control your heat:

    Poptart


    Or on the S Variant - can swap out the ERML for more ammo if you don't use it. As needed soak with your right arm:


    On the Tier side - there's an element of mixing if numbers are needed. The MM might mix say Tier 3 and 1 on the same side. I'm not entirely certain of the maths but some elements aren't revealed. The horrible truth is a lot of ace of spades get achieved that way.... not that I can talk as I've not got over 7 kills a match. ;)

    Thanks for the builds and tips :)

    Do you have good mech suggestions for a headhunter build? Something with ECM that can run at around 90-100kph?

    So far i am not really having fun with the WHM and TBR. I might just sell them in favor of mechs that fir my play style a bit better.

    Your beloved SRM and ECM and JJ, will need to unlock speed tweak to go fast though, but still this is a beauty.
    Not as good, but can downgrade to SPL for DHS/ammo.

    Very nice build, i actually want something in the heavy class so i can buy 3 variants and get them to elite. I'll have 3 open mechbays if i sell my WHM and TBR. Still not sure if i should sell 2 of my CN9's.
