Hi, I've been away for a while. Just patched and started playing again on Monday. What do you guys think about the latest rebalance? Most of the changes seem positive. One of the negatives is that a 2-man still gets qued with 9-man teams. Which is a waste of time.
Heya Jack, it's been a while for me too. I've been busy for a bit, but I'm starting to get into things again. I can try to answer a few things, but you will have to wait till someone else gets around to a better answer. Rebalance seems good, but they still have a long way to go. Ques still suck a bit, but with new steam groups around, that may improve. Otherwise, I've been away so long, that I don't even know which mech per tonnage is even meta these days. BC the new IIC mechs are meta for only as long as people need to grind them, and then they choose the best and stick with those. So what are they? What are their strengths? What are their weaknesses?
Hi, Im in the same position. I have not played MWO since more than a year ago. (so many new mechs since then ) The most fun for me seem to be "One-trick-ponies" and thus I have all Jager variants in my bay: JM6-A: 2x AC10 and 2x LL JM6-DD: 5x AC2 (cheesy i know...) JM6-S: AC20 and 2x LPL on one side to peak around corners Firebrand: 4x LPL Soooo, my question is: Is there any new mech which could fit my playstyle? I also got: JR7-D: 2x SL, 2x ML, 2x SSRM2, BAP CN9-AH(L): I guess this mech was handed out if one bought something during beta? STK-3F: 2x LL, 2x LPL
Finish your Stalker collection! They are a good bunch to handle. Jenner collection are ok also, though 4xML+SRM may be a butter build for the one you are having. That, and JR7-IIC series quite good. I think you might need some medium mech? Maybe try and see if those shadowhawks are to your liking?
If you like Jagermechs and also not limited yourself to IS Mechs than go for the Ebon Jaguars - pretty similar Playstyle and they got plenty of free Tonnage for brutal Firepower.
I will take a look into some Shadowhawk builds. And also thanks for the Jenner tip. I'll try it! I probably will not have enough time to do CW (However one never knows...). Other than the CW limitation there is nothing that could keep me from playing Clan mechs? Those Ebon Jaguars seem to be pretty dangerous when they approach - I will definitely take a look!
If you liked the Jager, you might also take a look at Blackjacks. Shadowhawks are nice, but if you like peaking around corners you are limited to one side. With the BJ you have the option for a symmetrical build, with high mount weapons and jump jets on most builds. It's a formidable little mech that was a pleasure to master. Also, I don't have any myself, but I agree with Blagg, the Ebon Jaguars are nice and scary, and is a chassis I wish I could afford.
The Ebon Jaguars are great. Exactly what I was looking for! Already found three builds to love. 1) 4x CERLL 2) 8x CMPL 3) 2x CUAC10 + 3x CERML The Blackjacks look like small Jagers - probably the next mech I will try! Thanks to everyone for providing me with those tips
