I'm wondering, what's going on with the Development of that other MechWarrior Game. The Last thing i read about it was kind of a Server Migration Late August, just like for MWO. But since then the official site is not accessible, showing only the text:

    In Wikipedia it is written:

Looks pretty dead for me. But i can't believe that they haven't officially announced the end of the project. Very sad. I hope this doesn`t happen to MWO/to us Players one day all in a sudden. :(

Me and my lance members were just talking about MWT. Unfortunate that it got shut down as it was a cool idea. I can hear the thirty bucks I spent for a founders pack being flushed down the toilet as I speak.

This makes me very sad :(

MWT looked like it had a lot of potential! Here's to hoping it gets revived.

I might have played it if it were nothing like the tabletop game and more like something fun, like Front Mission 3, for example.

Prime example of why all this 'buy a founders pack and play in the beta' stuff is very dangerous. You're never sure how/when they're going to deliver, and most of the time they'll have some sort of legal loophole where you can't get any back because they didn't actually promise you to play the full game.

I've severely cut back on my 'pre-release purchases' like I did for Deus Ex HR (which turned out to be awesome nontheless), Firefall (which i lost interest in as they reworked the progress/crafting system at least 5 times), MWO (who is extremely late on promises and keeps consistently disappointing with 'balance patches') etc.

I just do not understand why gamers in general are such retards.

I place most of the responsibility squarely on the shoulders of the gaming industry, pushing these atrocious and downright devious business models on their consumers. These people go to work trying to figure out how to take little Johnny's $20 allowance for a hue-changed monster DLC, etc.

But, again, the customers are enablers. We enable these fucking worthless companies to do this.

Look at sports titles. I need to pay $60 yearly to get a roster update? Seriously? For what, one new feature that isn't even new but was removed from the series 4 years prior only to be reintroduced as a new feature ala marketing?

Free to play? Pay to win? 500 dollars for a gold skin mech. I would literally LAUGH IN SOMEONES FACE if they told me on the sidewalk that they spent 500 dollars on a gold skin mech. Then I would probably say how sorry I feel for them for being so taken by worthless scumbags like PGI, EA, etc.

I mean, fuck. There's been a bug in Madden for over five years (FIVE YEARS) where sometimes a player is basically a midget. Like, 3 inches tall. I see on ESPN's front page, an article about it and how it's "a funny glitch". A funny glitch? Yeah it's a funny glitch. When the fuck did companies pull the wool over their retarded customers eyes to the point where a fucking BUG is being used to POSITIVELY MARKET THE GAME???

    WHAT. THE. FUCK.

All I'm saying is, I don't know why we as the gamers put up with all of the unyielding bullshit. Microtransactions, unfinished games, worthless patches, expansions that add nothing, nickel and diming you at every conceivable point.... and yet, we keep giving them money? Why? Sometimes for a product that isn't even a product??? WHY????????

Never, I repeat *never* give a gaming company a single fucking penny for a beta. Ever. NEVER. Grow a fucking pair of balls, be a man, and take a stand. There is no gamer union. There is an entire industry of worthless fucks pining for your cash, though. Think before you waste your money and enable these parasites to continue pumping out half-finished trash. I don't care if it's potentially the game of the ages, have a little self control and take a fucking stand. If a game comes out and is truly good, it's not going anywhere for a while...

A universe to explore..? Pilot..? Please tell me PGI isn't planning on taking their "incredibly successful Founder's Program" to a new level and make a Star Citizen wannabe clone.

And to think it was just a couple years ago I was lamenting the lack of sci-fi games. Fuck the games industry and their incessant bandwagon mentality. Stop saturating the market with shit games you fucks.

It's interesting to know if IGP gave up MWT already or just freezed the development until it finds a new developer team. The Game has potential and less Balancing Difficulties than MWO, even though the Mech Designs there are partially strange. Just looking at the Hunchback and I feel a bit strange. Other than that it could become popular if the game doesn't bring P2W Options.

About that New Sci-fi Game - I'm wondering why Ekman starts a new Project, meaning he is not anymore or less involved in MWO, while Development on MWO is slow as hell. It could be that PGI is trying to find another Path to get extra Cash for Survival. I mean, PGI definitely needs that. Looking at their History with few mediocre titles (Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza & Duke Nukem Forever) and the controversial development of MWO, it is doubtful though if they can gain a solid community base for this new title. If it's only gonna be a mediocre Star Citizen Copy then well.. It's gonna be very very hard for Ekman, unless he delivers some very fresh Ideas and development quality is way better than in MWO. I hope it's gonna be a Sci-fi Mecha-Sim Game, with an epic story to tell and not another Deathmatch Arena Shooter.

But in the end Ekman is doing a right thing - MWO is struggling for new p(l)ayers and new project means a new chance for cashflow!

Btw a new Shitstorm in the forums about the New Project just started!

Don't expect to see "AUniverseToExploreSpecs" any time soon.

I will not be touching that project.

Hello me from yesterday. You have no idea how right you were.

^ Go here if you have a strong stomach for disappointment. Oh god. The game's forum. How could they not have seen this coming? How?

I really and truly have lost all hope for PGI. I honestly still had it. I don't know why. But what the hell?

Looks interesting, but has it a chance against Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous?

They're just jealous of everyone spending 5-20x more money on star citizen than they do on MWO, right Michael? ;)

The more interesting part of this is that it was a Wing Commander Online pitch that EA didn't end up optioning so PGI is going at it alone. The comments on the starcitizen board are awesome with even the devs there saying they were initially worried about what EA was going to do with the license but now are quite tickled with PGI doing this alone.

I feel bad for PGI. There is zero chance they'll be able to pull this off. I don't want MWO to go away :(

TRANSVERSE COULD HAVE BEEN WING COMMANDER?!

I can't...I mean, I don't...how does EA not hop on that? If you want to compete with Star Citizen and ED, using the Wing Commander property would have been the closest thing you could get to a safe bet!

I'm still of mixed feelings about Transverse, and I do hope it goes well, but urgh, now my feelings are even MORE mixed.

EA doesn't hop on it because its PGI bringing it to them... they want something that has a chance at success rather than sink an IP

I'm really curious about if it's true, what some people say about EA & PGI. I mean, ofc,
, but on the other hand i wonder, why EA ever gave PGI the offer, if it was so clear, that the chances at success was low with PGI. Sounds a bit contradictory, not?

it's still rumours, or is it already confirmed by EA or PGI ??

p.s. What i find interesting & somehow amusing is, that PGI/MWO never succeeded to get 50 Mill. Bucks to work with, what CR has now with SC. Well, they (PGI) were too modest with their mech/package prices. If they had done it like CR with Packages of no limit on the top, e.g. you could have bought pre-Beta or even pre-Alpha already a $1.000 and/or even a $10.000 Limited Edition Timber Wolf Package 5 Yrs before launching Version 1.0. Would the community have had treaten PGI just like the People now do with CR? Kissing his Butt like small little naive boys? Would the Development of MWO had been much better, much faster, much more complete? Just like SC now after 2 Yrs (*cough cough* ok it's not complete, but a bit more complete than MWO was after 2 Yrs ?)?

Imagine Russ had 52 Millions for MWO. Do you think his team would have been only around 50 devs, for a Big Size Global Community Warfare game!? People rant here about PGI's incompetence, but hyping CR/SC and having no problem with $15,000 Packages. I mean, doesn't it sound ridiculous somehow?

CR already made clear, 52 Millions are far away from being enough for his Project. He will continue looking for much more money until Release. In last Month he gathered 530.000 Backers together. Now imagine, If CR can convince additional 1 Million Backers for a Sales Offer Package of e.g. $50 Price instead $100, he can generate additional 50 Millions Cash! How can he succeed? Easy Peasy - just marketize further $$$ Milestones with additional Extra Ingame Items for Backers, if it hits 100+ Millions etc etc.

CR is really a smart Business Man, getting all your money for digital content plus making you even worship him like a God. WOW! I mean, there are only few games i pay the initial Day1-price of $50, there are few games i pay $500 for microtransactions over several yrs. But $15.000 for a Completionist Package (sold out already)?? And people at PGI are shitstorming about $500 Gold Mechs Packages aka Peanuts. Damn, this is like a Comedy Show for me!

For Comparison: The Witcher 2 cost only $10,36 Millions Development and became an excellent Game, almost on a par with Skyrim, which cost $85 Millions!

Don't get me wrong, i'd love to see a grande SC release with little Bugs, but we are talking about Money-Risk Dimensions, which usually only a big Publisher could be responsible for, if it ever fails. But here we have a Backers-Program with no Refunds Options, if you don't get what you paid for. Shitstorm and try to destroy CR's Project in every Forum? No, impossible. It`s not a game from poor Russ/Ekman. It's fucking CR - the Legend!

Russ/Ekman will never get as much as CR for their Project "TV", since pissed MWO Founders are already trying to destroy it in almost every forum you can find about TV-Discussions. But keep in mind - many of these guys are SC-Backers. And keep in mind Russ/Ekman - they were never as greedy as CR, never was in MWO and probably wont ever be in TV. CR's Project is a great Dream, but this Dream cost us Players a damn lot Money = Risk. $15.000 Completionist Package and if the project fails, you thrown away $15.000 for digital content! This is insane. You think, SC Players will rant like disappointed MWO Backers, who bought Founders Package & Phoenix Package & Clan (Gold) Package etc. ? No, i`d say they will start murdering someone, when shit happens.

CR, i wish you all the best to realise everything in SC, that you promise us. Unlike you did in Freelancer and then gtfo, because this time, you have to hide for a very very long time!

Russ/Ekman, i wish you all the best to realise everything in MWO/TV, that you promise us. Maybe you should do it like CR - $15,000 Packages. But ok, you are not CR. You are only Mortals and you tried MWO with so little Budget and so little Dev Team. And you failed to please your community. Poor guys you! :p
