High-five to TieriaErde, and all props to SniperCzar and Grantham Besat for their 5x Overdrive/EX Range AMS + ECM Shield! XD http://i.imgur.com/C5BuUC6.jpg[/img] My build: And TieriaErde has a 5xcUAC5/1xUAC20 DWF-B. "Pop the LRM Boat" is soo muuch fuuun!!! Bonus Pic for my new camo: http://i.imgur.com/rkKNlKr.jpg[/img]
after cERML got the increased heat in the Friday patch, I dropped 2 cERML for 2 more tons of cUAC5 ammo. So 5x cUAC5 and 4x cERML.
Golgoth III version with LBX20 and TC1. http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=7603.msg52395#msg52395

Okay, two things! First, IanSane's hilarious 1k match: ...with this mech: He made an oopsie and dropped in half of a Daishi! XD No matter, for Ian. Second: http://i.imgur.com/8VGdG4K.jpg[/img] A new PR! Over 1600! I never expected to go this far... ^__^
Okay, I get plenty of 1k builds in the DireWolf maybe we should make this the 1500+ club but then again Abi would be like 1 of 3.... I came close with this build though. I threw it together, no idea if it was ever posted or not so apologies to anyone that laid claim to this build first. Regardless...I'd say it works....Even if I did die 3 minutes into the match....WITH plenty of ammo left....sigh
Goofin off tinkering...I know...Ian, tinker? GASP! and came up with this hilariously fun build. Someones probably laid claim to the name so I'll just show you mine. Great fun in a brawl and beware lights/meds....This mech will eat your face off. http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk187/fhfwolfy/ScreenShot0022.jpg[/img]
Welcome to da club! I really do think we should up this to the 1500 club though lol. I ran out with half my weps missing after a mechlab goof and managed to get 1000 dmg. The DireWolf is just THAT good. May I suggest a slight change to your build, it is obvious that the build works great for you but if I were to run a build based off the UAC10 and didn't want to carry 4 of them then I would probably go something like this... TC is a huge benefit to AC builds and especially those with slower convergence like the AC10 and 20. I dropped the UAC5 which allowed me to carry more lasers (not ammo dependant) without sacrificing alpha or sustained DPS which gave me weight/room for more ammo/cooling. By putting the 10s across both torsos instead of 1 and the arm (which would have seemed logical for poking) I mitigate the risk of losing 90% of my firepower should I lose that shoulder. I put the ammo in the arms for explosion safety since the Dire seems to rarely lose its arms only and want to avoid putting it anywhere near an engine or my other firepower. I've only been headshot once in the direwolf so I transferred some of that armor back into the legs for durability. Ignore the other armor values, everyone has their own taste for torso armor so I just left it at mechspecs default. Personally I keep 12 on the back armor but some like less than 10. Anytime I go less than 10 I start to worry about a light oneshotting me. I love the fact yours is different than the current meta of 5 UAC5s or my current personal favorite build my 5LBX5/5ML build
[member=3087]IanSane[/member] Thx buddy! I tried the multiple UAC5 Approach (is it really the current Meta for the DireWhale?? *doubt*), but somehow it doesn't have the Oomph Effect for me. Besides i tend to waste too much Ammo on far distant targets and in the second half i was like a sitting duck. Ok, Quad ERMLas in the Arms sounds like having a good Backup, but in most of my testruns i lost that Laserarm due to TorsoTwisting.. grrr. Besides Heat Production & Cooling due to no additional Heatsinks wasn't good enough to keep all Gunz firing nonstop for a long time. So in the end that QuadERML.Arms was most time inactive in my games. :whacko: The multiple LBX5 Approach is good to break 1K+ Games easily, but it's difficult to kill fast enough. At least that's my experience until now with it. But THAT is very very crucial in a Direwolf Brawler Build imho - every Second you waste, the Enemy can return fire and your big CT gets cored. So then i tried multiple UAC10s, beginning with my Ultra Chainsaw Build with the Idea to avoid Ghost Heat. That Build is very powerful, but lacks Ammo in many Games - the only Drawback! And then i remembered that i faced some Quad UAC10 Wolves, which wrecked the whole Battlefield. But that Build requires a very very attentive Heatmanagement, which lead me to the 3+1 Approach. It has the Burst Firepower of 7(!) UAC5 at almost the same optimal Range with little Ghost Heat and plenty of Ammo to go beyond 1K+ or even 1.5K+. The single CT-ERMLas is imo very important to fire additional Damage. The Arms.Lasers are just nice2have backup. In most of my games i only used them, when i need them for the extra Alphastrike Damage or when Ammo is gone. But usually the Firepower of 3UAC10+1UAC5+1ERML = 30(x2) + 5(x2) + 7 = 42(77) is totally wrecking (before the Jams come). I faced so many other Assaults, Atlases, Stalkers, Warhawks, Direwolves, most times i cored them within a Time Frame of 5seconds before they could turn any of my components orange-reddish! Here is another Testrun (and it's still not Basiced, imagine this Monster is on Master Lvl and Cooling + Movement Speed is powered up!): (Credits to the nasty SRM.Shadowhawk Pilot, who killed me in the end)
Well...I love the build I recommended to you! Got home, threw it together, first game... Most definitely a carry hard build. I'd love to see it in the hands of a GOOD pilot. http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk187/fhfwolfy/ScreenShot0027.jpg[/img]
Finally got a couple 1000+ matches tonight . . . took so long! (Just the Basic efficiencies so far, no elites yet.) "First match of the night." "Can't carry . . . I just can't!" http://i.imgur.com/qtRLuZX.jpg[/img] My build: No consumables . . .
My first game ever in a direwolf: 4xUAC5, 6xcERMLs This thing is...something else. I stripped the face off two gauss direwolves. Granted, it was a tunnel action in Crimson, but if a barebones no-basic-skill DW can do this kind of carnage...isn't this mech "a little bit" OP?
This thing is pure cheese XDDDD With a modified LB5 build (I don't like putting 90% of my firepower in ballistics. They run outta ammo. So I added a crapload of ammo on top of it ):
