I experimented with a few ridiculous and lackluster builds, but finally found this workable:

Weapons being selected for not having to bother with lock on or burn time or gauss charge up time. If you see something, and it is in range, you can send all your damage downrange instantly, then twist and fade.

It is similar to my Spirit Bear 1xERPPC, 1xLB20X, 4xSRM6A build, but trades 2xSRM6A for an ERPPC. This gives you better mid/long range harassing ability.

I wouldn't call it a 'brawler', although it kinda is. More of a close range peaker. Definitely not a solo brawler.

Are the days of the KDK-1 LArge Laser vomit truly over?!

Yeah, it is just too big and not nimble enough these days. Single Gauss just isn't enough sauce. Death Strike with dual Gauss + laser vomit is the best workable clan assault laser vomit.

  4. Kodiaks, especially KDK-1, are in a tough spot. Maybe they will get some love in the quirk and mobility reviews coming soon (TM)? Or if Clan lasers get partially un-nerfed.

    Would you rather have masc?

Or just something better that isn't completely quirkless.

Only acceptable build on the Spirit Bear IMHO is 1xLB20X, 1xERPPC, 4xSRM6A + MASC. Gives you the ability to just eat anything in front of you alive pretty quickly. Trading 2 SRM6's for an ERPPC is interesting, but since it leaves two missile hardpoints unused, I like the load on the KDK-1.

Not a bad alternate take on the MCII-1, but if loading frontloaded damage, gotta throw some jump jets on there too so you can do the massive blast pop tart. I think the MCII-1 works better though with 2xGR/2xERLL/2xERML, or 2xGR/2xERPPC, or 4xERPPC, or 2xUAC10/2xERPPC. But if you want to get kinky with an asymmetrical mixed brawl-focus build, I would never discourage it!
