Been enjoying my heavy and medium guys for the most part, however for the valentine's weekend event I played a bunch of champion light as well, primarily the Jenner. It was a lot of fun. So now I'm thinking of adding a light family to the stable and looking for recommendations. I tried the ACH (I know it's clan, just another data point) and didn't care for it much though maybe the trial variant isn't built well. I see Ravens all over the place. The Firestarters seem to have good reputation too. Any recommendations?
The must get IS light is the Urbie. Get it for the memes alone. It is a 30 ton assault mech with a 360 yaw rotation and jump jets. Get the K9 and be sure to engage the sirens and police lights when you are chasing enemy lights. The only other IS light I enjoy is the Huginn raven hero with dual SRM6A and LAMS (I can’t overheat myself even if I tried). For results, get the Wolfhound Grinner. It is ridiculously powerful. Flees are good too and popular, though I can’t stand playing anything under 30 tons.
Those are all MC only though For c-bills, the flea 17 (or whichever has 7 energy hardpoints), a different urbie (more energy hardpoints is better, or the r68 for missiles), or the wolfhound 2 (with 5 or even 6MPL) are probably good alternatives. Wolfhound 1B had laser duration quirks but no arm mount makes it difficult in elevated maps.
Here are my favorite IS lights: FLE-20, 5xML, ECM, MASC (skills) hot, but excellent peaker. FLE-20 5xSL, Stealth, MASC (different option, equally deadly) LCT-1E 6xSPL or FLE-17 6xSPL premiere ankle biter, but no stealth or ECM, requires balls. JVN-11A 7xML (skills) solid build. WLF-2 5xMPL (skills) absolutely solid build, always dangerous. Those are all quickplay builds, I do not know what the guys in faction play are doing.
